Spoon Man.. Funny you should mention Punk.... Just picked up some Vandals... Going old school.... Trying to find some Minor Threat.... So far all of my local stores are out. The search continues.

What are the vandals like ?

Thanks! Yeah, its pretty awesome. The song "ruination" reminds me a lot of "the divine falsehood." I'd have to say "constitutional masterbation" is my favorite for this album.

You?

I usually don't sit thru whole albums much anymore, I just throw everything on the iPod and hit shuffle. But since you asked, I gave it a listen today.

It's a very solid album. I'm and old school deathmetal head and I dug it, plenty of blast beats sprinkled in to keep grindcore fans interested as well.

I have to agree those are the two songs that stuck out for me as well. I found "Ruination" the most ambitious, visionary track on the album (The open notes reminded me of Disincarnate a little). Love the sound of halftime guitars over double-bass kicks.

"Constitutional Masterbation" would also be my choice for the most solid, straight forward track. Love the Morbid Angel-style halftime feel. Actually there was a lot of (old) Morbid Angel similarities on this album: The vocal effects on "Regurgitated Disinformation" really reminded me of "Where the Slime Live". What is that? Some kind of chorus? Sounds almost like bubbles?

I also liked the second half of "Unfurling a Darkened Gospel", excellent guitarwork and I could just picture the pit churning at the breakdown.

I do have to say though, the high-pitched screechy vocals started to get to me. I could listen to the low stuff all day, but that high stuff isn't really my style. Is it the same guy doing both styles of vocals, or two different guys like Carcass used to do?

Saw these guys in concert. It actually is two guys, but the lead will also do the high pitched. They sound pretty good live. The drummer is the stand out live thou. The band it self didn't have a lot of energy but the drummer. Man o Man.

Muse-The Resistance

AMAZING

Jay-Z "The Blueprint 3"...solid album.

I like how he put the rap game on notice about the over-use of Auto-Tune (see T-Pain), giving respect to the new wave of artists, and just the overall feel and flow of the album.

Listened through it for 5 times now (got it 7 hours ago) and it's amazing. Sons of Northern Darkness came 7 years ago so I waited for over 6 years for this album to come and finally it's here! Can't wait for world tour.
