When you say longest, do you mean still iOS supported or just using an iPhone that still is operable that no longer receives iOS support? The longest I have used one has been for three years, which was the iPhone 6.

The latter. As long as you're using it as your daily driver or one of your daily drivers, it counts, whether the latest version of iOS is supported on it or not.

The longest I've used an iPhone for was about 1.5 years. That was an iPhone 6. Otherwise I usually upgrade each year.

Thanks for the clarification. I still use my
iPhone 6 as an iPod. But I upgrade annually to the latest device.

I used my iPhone 4S for 3+ years, from launch till I replaced it with the iPhone 6. It was then handed down to my son who still uses it to this day.

15 months. And only that long because of the wait in between the 4 and 4S.

I answered two years but now I realise it was three. My first iPhone was a 4s which I got about a month after it launched. I had that from November 2011 to the launch of the 6 in September 2014. Kept my 6 until last September when I got a 7 Plus.

If it wasn't for gradually coming to dislike the size of the Plus, I'd be keeping it for at least another year. Will see what September brings.

I've been using my 6 since October 2014. Gonna check out the 8 and see whether all the rumours are true, if I can get it on the upgrade plan then I'll get it (knowing I'll have to wait a while). If I'm priced out then the 7s Plus will likely be my go to and daily driver for the next few years.

I use a 7 now but still keep my work email, etc on an old 5. The 5 isn't my daily driver by any means but it still gets used daily during the work week so that would be somewhere around 5 years. I've upgraded to a 6, then back to a 5s, then to an SE, and now the 7 during that time but the 5 works fine for my limited work needs so I keep it around.

Used my 6+ for about 2.5 years, think that was the longest. Although the 4 to 5 must've not been far behind, though they were both release day purchases. I bought my 7+ about 6 months after release.

In September 2012 I have bought iPhone 4S.

It still is chugging along.

One iPhone 6s+, 128GB bought September 26, 2015. One OS, iOS 9.0.2 since that date. One jailbreak since October 12, 2015.

My phone is a launch weekend phone and I have never had any issues with it, never any issues with 9.0.2 and never any issues forcing me to leave my jailbreak and update.

I do have an iPhone 5, but currently it is the third replacement of my launch day (September 21, 2012) original.

Longest streak without changing has been when I bought the 3G in July 2008. So just over 9 years.

I wasn't completely sold on the 1st gen iPhone so I was still between it and my Palm Trio 650 (dark blue).

The 3G was also the longest I used a single model of iPhone before upgrading.

Got my first iPhone, the 8gb iPhone 4, in January 2012. Upgraded early in 2013 to the 16gb iPhone 5. Then the 64gb 6s Plus in September 2015. Still have it.
