Meaning of love = commitment to raise offspring. Human child develops amazingly slowly, thanks to us humans being physically somewhat retarded apes with clear symptoms of autism and extremely weak hormone production. It's beneficary for survival to fall in love.

She doesn't want the attention. Give her the necklace, since it's her birthday. Don't you dare "surprise kiss" her. "Surprise kissing" works about as well as "surprise @#$%ing."

Just back off. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's the best thing for you, the best thing for her, and the best thing for the relationship. If she's interested, she'll come after you.

I am not going to do the surprise kiss anymore. I am going to be there for her now. She needs a friend more then another boyfriend.

It all depends on her state of mind. From what she has told me in the past, I am going to think she wants to stay single for a bit. It is probably a bad thing, but she came to me to rant about the boyfriend when ever he pissed her off.

Yea, she thinks you are a friend. You want to have sex with her but also want to be her friend and thus you have this silly inner puzzling debate about what to do. She doesn't want to have sex with you because you are her friend. More touching, less talk and maybe you get lucky.

So I guess you are a fan of the surprise kiss? :p

I thought your initial post was fine, but this entire thread has started to disturb me a bit. You were never a true friend if you didn't respect her relationship this whole time. You knew she had a boyfriend (and apparently you know her boyfriend personally too) and you've been trying to move in on it the whole time. That behavior has nothing to do with true love and you are not showing her much respect as a person. If she were interested, you would have already known. Not trying to crush your hope, but it is that simple.

You are very young...plenty of life experience ahead of you. All of it will lead you to discovering what the meaning of love is (and you"ll also learn about all the pain and heartache that comes along with it) ;)

No! Where do you people get this kind of stupid ideas from? Romantic comedies? Get a grip... Just get closer than normal friend would. Head on lap works. Any comfy position will do.

I am not looking for someone who supported it and I am not going to do it. I just interpreted it that you were for it though. My bad.

I respected her relationship with the boyfriend. But, it seemed every night at work about 2 months before she quit she would go on a rant about him. She was clearly not happy with him. Her "love you" seemed empty to me of actually meaning it when they would get off the phone. She started to interact with me differently. I may of misinterpreted, but I thought feelings for me might of been there. I decided to act on it. It may have been the wrong decision, but I will learn from it and move on.
