New design
I have a 3G because a 3GS would have been like $300 more (used, on T-Mobile)
faster (see last one)
better screen
Being on ATT and not having to deal with a hacked phone (by the time I can take a picture, the people will be fed up of smiling...)
The screen is probably my #1 reason, but having a thinner design and better battery life are both compelling improvements, as is 802.11n wireless (just to get our last 802.11g devices off our network.)
I'll be shocked if I ever use FaceTime for any reason other than sheer curiosity.
I hope it does have an improved speaker!! My friend at work has a Driod and the speaker is so much louder and sounds so much better than my iPhone. I would never buy a Driod but I do love the speaker and how loud it is!!
I'm a big fan of the new design. The new camera(s) will be a nice substitute for my actual camera (at least for every day shooting) and I am pretty eager to watch some porn on that new screen.
My phone is my primary still camera and video camera, and I use it as both very frequently. Those alone are worth the price of admission for me. My current phone is getting a little long in the tooth even just being a year old, and the fact that everything else gets a huge spec bump is icing on the cake.
1. I want the latest and greatest
2. New design
3. HD video recording
4. FaceTime
5. Improved Camera w/flash
6. Retina display
7. 512Mb RAM
8. Better battery life
Not sure what order, but the design had my attention right away. Then the screen resolution had me just about sold. Then the improved camera with 720p video sealed the deal. It's almost perfect. The only thing that would have made it better for me would have been 64 gig. I just know it will come out in 6 months and I'll be ticked, but then I'll upgrade the wife's and we'll swap.
