I don't have an iPhone, not sure if I would still have wanted an iPad if I had an iPhone.
I had both for a while, and found that I didn't use my iPad enough to justify its cost, so I sold it.
I might be willing to try it again when the iPad 3 comes out.
Just wondering. What was the point of you commenting? I understand you can do all that. I'm somewhat interested in replacing my laptop.

Thank you. This was useful. I also have a issue with iTunes and syncing...You can't download free music on an ipad and sync it with the iphone or ipod could you?
I think iPad's biggest advantage is reading, books or website articles. I still do not see it as a device you can work from, macbook air makes a much better choice, and it is a FULL computer.
I say macbookair+iphone or macbookair+ipad , but no way u would want a macbookair+iphone+ipad
I have that specific combo, but I used to think the same way as you.
I use the MacBook Air for Xcode and other programming (I study CS) and the iPad for light surfing, reading and watching video. I don't use my iPad for listening to music, I keep the audio on my iPhone instead. The iPhone serves as phone, iPod and mobile wifi hotspot (tethering iPhone -> iPad / MBAir).
You spent $500 or more just out of curiosity. Yeah okay. The more I read your anti Apple comments the less I understand you.
Why don't you answer the OP's question with helpful pros/cons rather than a mini rant as to why Apple released an iPad.
To the OP. I use my iPad for many different tasks including work related photo editing/publishing, blogging, surfing the web, email, editing web pages and a whole lot more.
I use Dropbox to transfer files between my iPad and have rarely if ever felt the need for USB.
I would say I've reduced the use of my MacBook by about a third.
You must be in the very small percentile who would need all 3 devices. As far as I know you can turn the ipad into a Wifi-hotspot and store your music on it, and you can replace your cellphone with a cheap nokia one to make calls. Or you can eliminate the ipad as you can do surfing and watching video on your macbook air.
The only thing the iPad has a major advantage in is reading, where its better to do on it than macbook air or iphone
My iPad has replaced my computer. Does that mean it replaced every computer in my house? No. What it means is that I no longer need a full-fledged computer of my own. As long as there is a computer in the house that I can access occasionally I'm good. I do 99% of my computing on the iPad and about 1% on the iMac.
My wife and I have always had our own computers, desks, bookcases, etc. Our shared office was always cramped. Now her eMac is retired, she has my iMac, and my office furniture is gone leaving us much more room for activities.![]()
It's part of the effort to get you to spend all of your waking hours in front of an Apple device.
if u used a stylus, then can you tell me which one?
whats the point of this question?
