It originally put me at 690. That was a bit too high so I brought it down to 500 for now. I can hit 690 on active days...but, I have a full time job, a wife with her own small business and 3 kids. I wanted something that I could reach even on my busiest of days and 500 seems to be a good mark for that right now.

My current goal is to fill all 3 rings completely every single day in May.

How about you guys?

Same move goal and my goal is to fill the rings as well. I can beat the 500 on 4 out of the 7 days but feel disappointed if I don't fill those darn rings in so I backed it down to 500 from the recommended 690. I just try not to eat an extra 200-300 Calories :)

This is the number it gave me. Kept it there for now, I'll see how I do. I have a sedentary job so I'll start with the default and take it from there.

Damn man... 6'3" and 170? You're a stick. Thats crazy light for that height. I'm 27; 6'4'' and 240 and i put my activity at light and my goal is 270... I think the goal has more to do with activity level than anything else.

I’ve never been one to close my rings consistently, but I recently received a sit-stand unit for my monitors at work; I’m a project mgr and I’m on the computer all day. Working toward standing and walking more. Additionally, I was at 215lbs on December 30th, my biggest ever, so I signed up to use the WeightWatchers app and I use more of the Apple Watch faces that show your activity. I’m down almost 30 lbs and summer is right around the corner — with better weather ahead, I’ll up my move goal soon.

I just looked at the health app and i average 606 this year. I have an office job and definitely have to plan exercise to meet that goal. (An hour workout plus sone short walks or a bunch of short medium walks and a little workout) Naturally the number is around 350 for just work and normal walking. I was averaging 515 Cals when I first got the watch, about 90 less per day than currently. The AW has definitely helped me keep active and find little ways to keep moving.

Sometimes I can pull it off easily. Sometimes I need some extra efforts. To double the goal, I need to walk two hours, which is quite some contribution for me. But I think I am fine.
I used to not like moving around. After this Apple Watch, I now push me to move around or even do simple exercise every day.

It originally put me at 600 but that was too easy. My goal was to hit all three rings every day. I can’t close the move goal without at least 35 minutes of a real workout. I workout everyday (long walk in Sunday is my “rest” day and I’m going to move it up to 1000.
Diagnosed w T2 diabetes two years ago and I’ve been able to stay off meds completely.
The activity app is a powerful tool.

I’ve hit my goal 508 days in a row now!
That's awesome. Incredible dedication with a goal that high and not missing a single day. Amazing that an illness, travel, or all the other life things haven't derailed you even once.

Well done.

Travel has been the hardest part. I’m military and travel kinda often. I make sure to work out before I leave, and I spend my time at the airports walking around instead of sitting and waiting.

I’ve had an Apple Watch since early May and the only day I didn’t close all my rings was the first day (picked the watch up in the evening). I’ve changed my move goal several times, but every one has been an increase of 50-100 calories. I haven’t really lost much weight, but I’ve lost 2+ inches on my waist and all my shirts fit better.

If I am not on vacation and traveling (4 weeks or so a year) I hit all three goals every day.

Interesting seeing everyone’s stats. Threads on monthly challenges I’m astounded at what some people have to accomplish for move calories. I make my 600 goal most days, but my husband and I walk 5 miles every day and that won’t do it. Have to keep moving the rest of the day too. Gym days, 3 days/wk, weight workout, I’ll exceed 600 by about 200 cal.

I don’t meet it unless I run at least 3 miles or do a more low impact workout for about an hour.
