Goal is 1,000

I've hit it 60 straight days. (My 90-day average is 1,478 according to the Trends tab in iOS 13.) I mostly run, but I also row (indoors) a couple of times per week and bike when I need a day off from running.

I have a marathon coming up in 3 1/2 weeks, so I will probably lose my streak the day before the marathon. (I usually run 2-3 miles and then stay off my feet.)

Move goal - 700

For me to hit 700, I have to hit about 10-12,000 steps. If I run (usually 3x a week), 700 is no problem. On other days, I'll take a 20 minute walk in the afternoon, which usually gets me close by the time i go home. So I'll walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes to hit the 700 mark.

I had an 872 day Move streak broken a few months ago because I lost track of time. By the time I realized that I hadn't hit my goal, it was already passed midnight. DAMN!!!!

Now, I am into IT, although I do try move as much as possible. On a regular day I can get past the threshold pretty easily. The Activity app says that I walk around 5 KM a day. May not sound like much, but again, I am into IT. Besides, I travel to/from work by public transit.

As for the other averages: I stand around 10 hours a day (although on regular work days I do get past the 12 hours threshold), and I workout at around 32 minutes a day.

I’m certainly not someone who does a lot of sports. But my most important goal is getting those three rings completed every single day. And most of the times, I succeed in that.

I’m 50, 6ft 186lbs and I leave mine at 220, yep that’s way low but I run at least 6 days a week and always hit over 880 but on the day I run say half marathon distance and want an easy day the next day I want to be able to have it and not worry about closing a ring. Apple does not build in a rest day for us that runs daily so I build mine in by setting it low.

43, 6', 180lbs, and mine is set to 380. I always close that ring (I close all three about 95% of the time) but I don't bother changing it because I just don't care. I would never close a ring just for the sake of closing a ring - in fact, whenever I don't close a ring, it's usually the exercise ring and often it's only short by <5 minutes. I control my electronics, they don't control me. At least, that's the idea. Lol

Move Goal: 600 cal. -- though I need to increase it as 600 isn't much of a challenge any more. I'm almost never below 750, and well above most days. I close all 3 rings daily.

Been doing pretty awesome this summer. Hit the goal everyday in July, all except 3 days in June, and on pace to hit it everyday again in August.

Don’t have to work during the day right now while I’m studying in the mornings for a new certification so I decided to take advantage of what might be one of the last times in life that I’ll have the free time and energy to workout 2 hours per day.

Currently have a 255 day streak of closing all three rings.

My son recently got a series 5 Apple Watch for Christmas, he can close his standing and exercise rings but his move ring hardly moves, Even after a busy day at school, including a PE session. can anybody explain this?
He is 13 years old and weighs about 32 kg. Thank you.

Move Goal: 750 for 2019

Started w/ the app Sept. 2019, before that using a Garmin F3 for running but started swimming in Sept as my 40yrs. of running are starting to show & need to be dialed back. Alternating w/ 3-4 mile runs 3 days a week w/ 3 days of 350-400 yds. of freestyle & 1 day of super slow w/ a strength coach.

If they can they're not talking (Apple). Most recently, my rings seem to move, or not, for unexplainable reasons. FWIW, 60 minutes of exercise, like a PE class perhaps, would be good for about 300 cals, at least for me (older, bigger). But that's constant movement.

When you first set up the Apple Watch, the activity app will set the move target based on you age, weight, gender and the target activity level (light, moderate, active ... I think).

For me, I chose moderate and it set the move target to 700. For me to reach 700 without what I call a workout (running 3 miles or biking for an hour) I have to get in about 10,000 steps of walking. That’s about 5 miles for me.

most days, I have to walk on the treadmill for about 30 to 45 minutes to close my move ring, if I don’t run that day.

Move goal: Not sure, never really paid attention b/c my basal metabolic rate burns up calories just sitting on the couch. Dialysis unit says I have an unusual metabolism.

where are the women on this post?! Usually I can make my goal, but if I miss, it’s by about 10 or 15. I’ve worked out all my life and it’s stood me well thus far…tho I did need a new hip a few years ago. 😁. Don’t ever give up!
