People have proven that even doing the 20-80% and other battery "rules" are meaningless. My wife's launch day x is at 93%, and she abuses it plus uses a battery case. If you can get 2+ years of hard use out of the battery, it's NOT worth babysitting it just to maybe eek out a third year before needing to replace the (cheap) battery.

I’ve had mine since Oct. 2018.
Charge it every night up to 100%.

iPhone XS, bought at the end of February, now battery is 95%.
I am not a heavy user, during first 2 weeks of usage it dropped from 100% to 98%.

Down to 91% on an October 2018 iPhone XS. I’d describe myself as a heavy user but I’m still a little disappointed.

At this rate I’ll be down to 80% by two years of ownership. Hopefully battery replacement prices don’t climb too much by then!

Absolutely.

I think this whole option to see the health should be in a hidden menu, it has had people freaked out about it. Some of the iPhone groups on Facebook have endless questions daily about it.

That way I see it is that one must just use their devices as they please and not worry too much about this.

I have my XS Max since mid October and still at 100%. I usualy never past the 50% mark per day and I never let my phone go below 20% yet. I put my phone at my wireless charger at night no matter what my battery usage was. So far so good.

I agree! Apple adding this 'feature' is just causing mental anguish for some people, so should be hidden until it reaches a percentage that has a negative impact on your device.

98% since launch day. People shouldn't complain of a loss of a few percentage points. After a year Android phone batteries are toast or seem that way due to inefficiencies in OS updates on older phones.

Was 100% just dropped to 99% the other day. It's always on a wireless charger when I'm not mobile. Extremely rare that it ever went below 30%, though not because I'm trying to preserve the life of the battery, just don't want it to die.

Early December Xs Max at 100%. I try and keep it in between 40-80% as much as possible.

I have my 256gb XS Max since October and it's at 91%

I charge every night up to 100%

For such an expensive phone, I consider myself pretty disappointed, and one of the reasons I'm selling mine and going to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus this time, never had my past Android phones battery reduce capacity like this, and neither a display that scratched so much (and so easily).

I'm not even a heavy user, or either play games on it.

The only premium thing on Apple phones nowadays are the price tags, nothing else.

I checked the battery health today, and it’s dropped another % down to 94%. Not happy about this...

Mine as at about 93%. The problem is I am a light user, My X never went down from 100%. The battery life on this phone is noticeably worse as well. I will be taking it in sooner or later and requesting a replacement.

Launch day XS max 99%

I use wireless charging at home and fast charger in the car

Can’t believe how many people babysit their battery and only charge when it reaches a certain percentage and then watch it to make sure they do go over a certain percentage. That is crazy!
I have one rule of thumb with all batteries, and it has served me well for decades. Don't allow it to drop below 10% in case of an emergency.

You are going to take it in because "it never went down from 100%"? Yet you consider that battery life worst?

I do not understand . . .
