Easy one. There are many things but the most ridiculous thing ever is that it has no undo function. There are so many times I do things like ratings that I clicked wrong, deleting tracks from playlists, etc. that I want to easily undo but can't.

The fact that I can't import .wma directly into iTunes on Mac OS X, that just grinds my gears.

I'm kind of surprised that iTunes doesn't take advantage of Quicktime Plugins, since it's using QT's engine anyway. That is, I'm surprised that Flip4Mac doesn't give iTunes this ability. At least when one has QT Pro, QT is able to import and translate WMA using F4M. I wonder why they didn't allow iTunes to do this? Too much confusion re: audio formats in the library that the iPod cannot play?

Mine is about the fact that you can't delete items listed in the Recently Added list (or any other smart playlists).

The thing is I use that list a lot, and having not able to delete some of things listed there can only frustrate me.

This one just came up...if you buy songs from iTunes with the Explicit Lyrics written on it for naughty words, is there anyway to get rid of it after the fact? I have one album I bought completely on iTunes that has this, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. I love me some consistency.

Well, assuming this is more of a request for help than a rant, yes, it is possible, but it is not possible in iTunes. The Explicit Lyrics thing uses an ID3 tag that iTunes doesn't let you edit (or, annoyingly, search or use in any other useful way). If you want to change it, I think you can use a separate ID3 editor such as iTunify. There might also be a free one -- I'm not sure.

I'll have to check that out. Yeah, I want to remove it as it is annoying, but also that was a side rant as to why iTunes won't let you edit this.

You can, hold option and then hit delete. You can do this from any playlist, and it's FREAKING handy.

I can't believe this isn't said more often. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever that there is no undo.

Hopefully Apple is going to release a cocoa version of iTunes that is a tad better for usability and system use.

Shared Freakin' Libraries

My request is simple; two users on one machine to be able to use the same library, same playlists, same playcount, at the same time. I want one user to be able to purchase a song and add it to a playlist, and the other user to see it.

There are hacks and workarounds, but I hate having to sync my library files before launching iTunes. And I can set it up to have the library on an external drive ignoring permissions but a) I want my library on my internal drive, and b) you STILL can't both use it at the same time.

OK, it would be nice to extend this sharing to other computers on your LAN, but I'll settle for multiple users on the same machine. Pretty please?

I know this thread is old but I need somewhere to post this.

The other day I did Boot Camp and now I use Fusion to access and I installed Winamp and Sqr_Soft Advanced Crossfade plugin and now I can no longer listen to iTunes files crossfading. The crossfading in iTunes is awful, just awful, awful, awful, awful. Ugh. I tried searching and I can't find anything for iTunes that is as awesome as Winamp and Sqr_Soft and it is disappointing.

But maybe someone on the board knows about a crossfader for iTunes. Don't recommend AccuBeatMix because I tried it and it's not what I want. It doesn't have to be free either, I'll pay for good crossfading.

Thanks for letting me vent. This thread has some good peeves too. I like the idea of splitting the video portion from iTunes.
