just Macintosh HD...and it's not on my desktop. You mean I can rename it?
Yeah, just waiting to go to the airport and sweat my back end off in 95-degree heat in a two seat helicopter with a lawnmower engine attached for two hours.
I'm putting off leaving, that's for sure.
EDIT: And yes, you can name it whatever you want just like a file.
Macintosh HD, it's the year of HD, isn't it?
Nice call AmigoMac.
It's a shame about your back end iGary. I hope they can get that lawnmower engine off it in less than two hours.
I've attached mine, the network icon is my iBook.
Another vote for 'Macintosh HD'

eva00 on the powerbook
eva01 on the powermac

just like the names of the computers, i feel that the name of your computer should be the name of the HD
i have been very boring in naming my partitions; they are: "system", "users", "shared" for the internal drive, and "apps", "storage", "work", "backup" for the external drives.
I'll do the screenshot thing when I get home. Until then, I'll let you sit in an-ti-ci-paaaaayy-shhhhuuunnnn.
For my powerbook:
No confusion here.
Because it's the iBook G4 that Apple gave for free after all my issues with the iBook 800Mhz.
I use tree names.
As does my college. Interesting...
Time to upload today's workload to cherry
Nice that your icon isn't a mouth.
On my older machine
On my Dual 1.25 GHz Powermac
At my old office we used beer names for the PCs and Snack for the Macs. I remember the President's mac was Pork Rind.
The hdd on my iMac is just iMac G5 HD
iPod 3G is 3G 15GB
shuffle is Shuffleupagus
I'm in bed now on the windows laptop but will post pics up tomorrow!
I 'll stick with the classic...Macintosh HD.
Mine is named Mac Mini
Edit: How do you hide the icon from the desktop?
Drue (Norwegian for "Grape").
All my HDs are named after fruit. On my old pismo I had two partitions and called those Eple and Pære ("Apple", duh, and "Pear"). I also have two external drive which showed up with the orange icon and thus was called Appelsin ("Orange") and Mango.
i use something basic, that means something when i'm working, followed by the capacity. icons are Liverpool FC badges, a star 'cause LFC won the Champions League, and a "WeeMe" picture, of me!
