Never seems to be an issue on mine. Try forcing a manual backup and see if it then automatically backs up the next cycle. Also make sure your iCloud account is connected fine and have enough storage.
Yep done that. Even filed 5 tickets because they dis not bother reading my tickets and gave me standard script answers.
 
I'm not sure. Mine is set to backup every week, and that works. Are you saying that it doesn't work when you set it to Daily backups? I just changed the setting and will know soon enough.

Both daily and weekly seem to work fine for me. I realize that it didn't work for me a while back. I had turned off background app refresh completely. I think that turning that on for WhatsApp (and a few other apps) may have solved the issue. Do you have background app refresh turned on for WhatsApp?

It always worked without enabling background app refresh. Nonetheless I tried enabling it, reinstalling the App/iOS even a new phone. Nothing works, reported the bug to WhatsApp hopefully they fix it and take it seriously. Thanks for the feedback.
