Yea, Telegram is much better but users are locked into What's App because of the network effect. Nothing we can do really.

Anyways, It's not live for me as of yet. Does anyone know a way to force it? As far as I remember there was a way to force it when they rolled out the call feature.

Not seeing it here, I'm in the UK and on 2.12.5. I'd forgotten about the web version until now. Shame it's not native. Yes, it's tied to your phone number, but it could easily be done. Sadly, despite my best efforts, I have friends that only use that to message, which is annoying. Even one on iOS.

Also, Facebook owns WhatsApp, it's only a matter of time before they kill it anyway and roll it into FB Messenger.

People have been saying that for a year, but still both apps are being kept separate. I doubt they'll merge them as they serve 2 different needs.

Yet still no Apple Watch app... smh

That would be nice. Maybe we will see one with WatchOS2, since it'll probably need to be a native app. Though with the fact it took them a year to do the voice calling, after they announced it, I don't hold my breath....

People need to switch to Telegram. WhatsApp is clunky garbage. Telegram has the most wonderful chatting experience I've ever seen in my entire life and I've been in this business for a long time.

REAL clients for all your platforms. None of this proxying through your phone bulls**t. And the group chats work really well.

Dump WhatsApp and tell your friends to do it too. Also, Facebook owns WhatsApp, it's only a matter of time before they kill it anyway and roll it into FB Messenger.
Wrong. Telegram is even clunkier... For me iMessage comes first, then WhatsApp for my folks utilising other phones... It all comes down to practicality.

I tried to ditch WhatsApp the moment the were bought by Facebook, tried to convince my friends to move to Telegram but they are back at WhatsApp... Here's hoping Apple will port iMessage to Android.

I tried Telegram and installed it on my girlfriend's iPhone too. I really liked it but after some time, my girlfriend started receiving messages from some indian freak. So we both deleted the app and came back to whatsapp.

Agree 100%. I'm pushing Telegram everywhere I can. It's fast, clean and has clients on everything under the sun. It's amazing and frequently updated and getting better all the time.
I have tons of people on Telegram already and even my WhatsApp status says "Whatsapp blows. Get Telegram!"... perhaps that's helping? In any case.. still can't wait for WhatsApp web support so I can finally message those WhatsApp holdouts among my friends via computer...

Not live for me yet either.

The only reason whatsapp is popular is because those silly android users are obsessed with using it. All my iPhone friends are "just text me" whereas androids users are quick to message me on whatsapp even tho I say "text me"

I only use it for group chats with non iOS users..

Oh those silly Android users. If only more of them would join us on the iOS side :p

WhatsApp has updated its website with instructions on how to access WhatsApp Web on iPhone, and the new settings appear to be rolling out for some users now. To access WhatsApp Web from iPhone, open the app, tap on Settings and a WhatsApp Web menu option should appear once live.

WhatsApp Web connects to your iPhone to sync messages with your computer, allowing you to send and receive messages from your web browser and view conversations on both devices. The service is also available for Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and select Nokia smartphones.

WhatsApp Messenger [Direct Link] is free on the App Store for iPhone.

if you delete and reinstall whatsapp the whatsapp web shows in settings.

Changed my iPhone's region to the United Kingdom (some users reported that there the service was available) and showed the Whatsapp Web

Hi folks, you want to use WhatsApp Web, but are not activated yet? Follow this small Guide and you can use WhatsApp Web for iOS!

1. Make a current backup of WhatsApp via iCloud
2. Remove WhatsApp from your iPhone
3. Download the latest version of Whatsapp via the AppStore again.
4. Now your WhatsApp is configured again. After that, you will find the new menu item "WhatsApp Web" under settings.

Have fun!

Good luck with that. I personally use Facebook messenger most and think it's pretty decent. As much as I like iMessage, Apple need to release an Android version for it to be my and anyone else's exclusive chat client. There are simply too many Android users out there. I think they should bite the bullet and give them a taste of some good software. They'd all try it out and thus us iOS/Mac users could message everyone from a single messaging platform.

I absolutely could not agree with you more.

My friends, family and I all moved to Telegram when Whatsapp were bought out by Facebook. I have one single account across all my devices including desktops, ipad, android tablets, surface etc.. - It's how it should be. They've even covered the iwatch.

So many people on here complain about Google trawling their data, well, what do they think Facebook is going to do in order to recoup their mahooosive purchase cost of Whatsapp? I read somewhere as well that it is in Whatsapp T&C's that they can change their T&C's whenever they like and don't have to notify users.

Try Telegram and you'll not look back.

Apple need to release it for Android for it to be my exclusive chat client.
Very, very, very good luck with that one!

Personally don't use whatsapp much and prefer iMessage. That might just be because I'm a fanboy though but I do believe it is better and simpler. Still this is excellent for those of you who use the service daily.

I agree of all things apple, iMessage has been very well thought out. My favourite messaging app as well.

Hmmm, what's the one major problem with it again? Oh yeah it's not on multiplatforms or even web accessible. You might be one of the few people that only have to use all Mac products but many people go to work and have windows machines, not to mention not everyone you know owns an iphone.

If Apple ever releases it on Android/windows and or web (dreaming I know) I'd definitely give it a whirl. Till then I'm a Hangouts user. Hopefully Google lets you send sms messages via web with it then it will catch up a bit to iMessage. Whatsapp took too long to include web access.

They are the slowest devs ever - whatever is released in September in the newest iOS you're lucky to see implemented in Whatsapp by Dec/Jan.
