All of those reviews are just carbon copy repeats of information we got off the keynotes.
They all say the exact same stuff for example the EKG function, they all mention the exact same thing about the PDF.

Where are the battery life tests, LTE reception tests, processor speed differences, RAM, Screen, heart beat monitoring tests/comparison between the S3 and S4. none of these are actual reviews but just a mash up of existing information just to churn out the videos to get the views in on youtube.

Very little actual useful information from these so-called reviews... raving about EKG which is not even out with no E.T.A yet plus for anyone who`s not living in the USA a complete useless feature.
I watched all the reviews, and most of them are worse then others, it`s just about the damn youtube views and keeping apple happy.

Not the OP’s fault. I thought creating a standalone review thread with a wikipost would’ve been better but mods merged it into here and added ‘post links here’ to the title

She is probably the worst, i just don`t like that over the top american spectacle of fakeness, plus 70% of the shots were about her, her body etc. she is super self absorbed.

yet Gruber never defines/explains how he determines nicest. Is he arguing that any watch that is mechanical and has a round face is automatically nicer? Gruber admits this is subjective but still writes about it as though it’s fact.

Gruber Clearly and intentionally is over using the word ‘nicest’ on purpose in this article ample times. He is doing this in a way to not necessarily describe the watch, but jabbing at Apple/Cook somewhat. He is also likely using this type of rhetoric to make his article ‘Edgy and witty’, which really the most informative part of his views is towards the end of the article about the actual watch itself. The rest of it is really jiving with semantics and highly subjective with over-usage of ‘Nicest’.

It doesn't work yet so they were unable to review it.
I know but the all loath it, whilst not being able to review it, its a major feature and they still dump it in their "review" thats my problem. instead use that time to talk about actual changes of the watch.. what makes it better than the previous iterations, show examples.

If Apple were asked to design the most beautiful watch possible without consideration to functionality I seriously doubt anyone with any credibility would suggest it'd look like the Apple Watch does.

They're doing a solid job working with current limitations and module sizes. I was really pleased when I saw the smaller bezels and rounded corners. Guess we'll see even smaller bezels in a few years. Pairing an edge to edge design, better battery life and some always on low power faces, then the AW is going to start looking really good on the wrist.

Runner’s World review was disappointing - didn’t seem like the reviewer actually ran with it, no mention of if the improved sensors help with current pace stats as I think were mentioned by Jony during the video. Hoping some actual runners provide real world experiences with Series 4!

John Gruber’s series 4 review

Mostly positive review. However, a good chunk of the beginning of the review goes on about how Apple Watch isn’t the nicest, yet Gruber never defines/explains how he determines nicest. Is he arguing that any watch that is mechanical and has a round face is automatically nicer? Gruber admits this is subjective but still writes about it as though it’s fact.

Before I got an Apple Watch I wasn’t wearing anything on my wrist. I think that’s who Apple was/is targeting. I also think the rounded rec design, while most likely for functional reasons, was Apple saying they don’t want to look like a poor mans mechanical watch. This is in stark contrast to most Android Wear watches which just look like cheap immitations of a mid-range mechanical watch. Apple still put a lot of effort into what they could do as well as higher end watch makers: watch bands (Gruber discusses this in his review).

One thing he didn’t mention which surprised me was no always on display. In the past he’s said that’s one reason he’s not a regular Apple Watch wearer.

Just read it and I agree with almost everything he said, especially the nicest parts. :)

Yes, very disappointing. Waiting to hear of any sports tracking/optical hr improvements. Any reviews of watchos5 on previous watches in this sphere?

God forbid someone show emotion and ya know, actual excitement for something in life. Let alone be attractive and have haters go instantly with the self absorbed comments.

"Over the top American spectacle of fakeness" What does that even mean?

I’m wondering if their choice to box watch and strap separately will lead to a build your own option in the future

I mean if only Americans could look like they have a stick up their backsides 24/7. I think that’s what they’re looking for

lol same old same.. EKG is amazing! but not yet available, how the hell can it be amazing in your review if you did not even tested it, making false claims based on hot air... PDF to doctor bla bla bla.. damn all these so called tech reviewers suck balls, they litterly just read up the specs show what we already know and call it a review.

We want the actual battery life in various scenarios, did the heart monitor improved? if so how? is it faster in picking up heartbeat etc? test? review? we want to see LTE connectivity tests, we want to see speed tests to see how much diferent/ improved it is over the older versions.

Nothing of these reviews actually show something interesting that we not already know from the keynotes and the apple site. So much quick view garbage. please note this is my personal opinion. I just want to see actual reviews of the darn thing, i will make one for sure too.

The problem is these shallow none actual reviews get all the views for just spilling out existing information but it seems like so many people either just don` care and want to see it moving on the screen or they are a bit too simple of mind, and they need to be constantly reminded of existing information.

Reviews so far have been very disappointing. they all seem pretty rushed... but i guess there was probably not enough time to go deeper yet.

We are probably going to need to wait for DC Rainmaker’s authoritative testing to get this kind of data. Hopefully he’ll compare it to a series 3 to see whether there’s been any improvement at all in sports/heart/fitness tracking.

I’m a dc rainmaker fan - I’ve actually ran with him last year while I was in Paris.

Thus said we both use garmin watches specifically the garmin 935xt. I don’t believe our expectations are the Apple Watch will replace our real sports watches let alone bike computers (I use the edge 1030). I can’t hook up my chest strap, temp sensor, foot pod, power meter, bike cadence & speed sensors to the watch.

I did order the series 4 LTE to use on my dog jogs or recovery runs and have music. But mostly I ordered for the notifications which suck on the garmins.

Btw how weird is it that garmin supports sleep data and Apple doesnt? Is this true?

Anyways real athletes know that heart heart wrist data sucks

Then by all means, Make one.

I got all the information I needed from MKBHD to make my decision to purchase one.

I can’t hook up my chest strap
Bluetooth chest straps work just fine on the Apple Watch.

I’ve occasionally used the one that came with a Polar M400. No problems.

But sure, there are still many reasons to prefer a real sports watch. I could live with the Apple Watch though, especially if using a chest strap.

What I find annoying is that the built in exercise app can’t display average heart rate during exercise, only current.

So are there any legit reviews of S4 heart rate monitor accuracy out yet?
