When can I reserve for in store pick up at Apple Store?

Depends where you are. The Atlanta area stores are showing stock online. Order for in store pick up

My phone has been lost by UPS - I saw this thread, jumped on the app and looked to have grabbed the last 64 SG at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta. Going at 12:30.

Choose pickup: check availabilty link
Put in zipcode
It will pull up a list of Apple stores closest to you
You can tweak the color and GB to see if better availability exists
Continue
Choose Payment option
Add to bag
Pickup Details
Choose a time
Pay

I cancelled my order for a silver one that was weeks out and ordered in store pickup. I checked at 6am this morning and they had stock of the 64gb in space gray. I was quite surprised they had any in stock.

Meh. Still requires carrier account validation. Sure enough, availability lit up in one of local stores but still no go without the actual VZW account. (want to use this @ Total Wireless). I guess I'll keep waiting.

What I did was use the Apple Store App, pick a model, go through carrier verification, then leave the phone in the cart. Then every morning at 6am, open the cart and click checkout. This way you can checkout in a few seconds without waiting for verification.

And yes, I got one to pick up later today.

I’d try clicking buy. I believe that will bring up the page where you pick between shipping and in store pickup.

Don’t be afraid to click buy, you’ll be able to cancel at any time if things don’t go as you want.

It "should" reset instantly but Apple still has to contact your carrier and who knows how the systems are running.

My local Apple store is also showing the X available for pickup. I’m so impressed with how Apple can ramp up production on these high demand items. Bodes well for next release when I will upgrade again.

As I said in my previous post, click buy. And calm down, you don’t have to get in your order before your store opens, you just have to get in your order while they still have stock.

My order process looked a bit different because I was doing it from an iPad. Just click buy. Report back if you don’t get a screen where you pick between delivery and in store pickup.

I did not pre order. Went to Apple.com at 7am and ordered 64gb space grey for pick up at 1pm today. Easy peasy!

You choose the store at check out.

BTW. I checked at 7:40 am and also received an e-mail notification from istocknow.com that the one I wanted is now available in store so I quickly grabbed it and they only had 1 in stock.

I just chatted with them and they said it takes 24 hours...ugh.

I know when I have gone to the store in the past in a similar situation, it took 5 minutes to reset so I don't know...

I’m in San Diego and I can confirm this worked and was just able to order for pickup at UTC.
