Anyone with a developer account recall how long the intervals were between beta releases of OS 2.0?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/7A238j Safari/525.20)

2.0 saw 4 betas I think.

No, I believe it was more like 7-8.

Well, when Microsoft, the king of releasing software early, only gives out one beta, I don't see many being put out by Apple.

Huh? Don't you remember the iPhone 2.0 betas?

Or for that matter the multiple releases of Snow Leopard already? Or remember how many betas of Leopard and Tiger there were?

Even things like 10.5.6 and 10.5.7, etc, have had multiple developer releases before going final.

[Sorry if you were just making some sort of joke, and it went over my head. 🙂]

Just because MS gives one public beta build doesn't mean they only put out one beta. There are numerous builds seeded to various levels of developers, MSDN subscribers, etc. There have been almost a dozen Windows 7 builds released since the public beta 1.

Which leads to the very important point that this 3.0 release is not a public beta.

It's a developer release. (Even though people have tried to turn it into a public beta 🙄)

Apple has done a great thing by making the beta available to all developers, the amount of feedback they've gotten already has got their team in a tizzy, I imagine. Beta build part 2 will be out in less than a months time. Remeber folks as devs begin finishing their 3.0 apps, testing will need to be done with the current beta at that time.

There is not going to be giant one day release for all of this content like the cluster fork last year.

Don't mind his comments, he seems to have an answer for everything on this board regardless of if actual knowledge is involved in his statements.

Perhaps sticking to the original question at hand, hmmm?

Here's dates for 6 (yes, there were 7 or 8 releases to beta testers in total) of the beta releases of 2.0:

April 15th
April 24th
May 6th
May 21st
May 28th
June 10th

Whether this same frequency of new betas occurs with 3.0 remains to be seen.

Who Cares?

Who cares, dude. They just release 1.0, and you are worried about 2.0? What a nice life you have. I wish that was the biggest of my worries.😕

LMAO! He's gutted!

Anyway, I think there'll be a fair few releases, as there has been with Snow Leopard. 🙂

Do you guys know if it is gonna be released as an update through itunes or by logging into the dev account?
