When I use speaker phone on iPhone 11 Pro Max the receiving end hears an echo when they talk. Does any one else experience this or know a solution. I’m on beta 13.3.1.

I'm having the same issues with my 11 Pro on 13.3 - not beta. I've been having the same issues for a while now. Glad that I'm not the only one having the issues.

I’m thinking about going to the Apple store to see what they would do as I use speaker all the time. It happens with no case on.

It's always been a problem when using speaker phone .... nothing new ...
I think it's worse with PM because the volume is louder. Usually as long as my wife turns the volume down some, I don't get the echo anymore. You'd think they could get some decent noise canceling. When my wife is in our Trax, I can't even tell she is driving because it is so quiet other than her voice.

Im getting the same issue, mother has an Xr I have a Iphone 11, whenever I turn on speakerphone she can hear herself, its terrible, does it with Daughters iphone 7, when I turn it off it goes, I swear this will be my last iphone, I am already looking at a one plus and Samsung note, there are loads complaining about this issue, a quick google search is quite an eye opener, I have been a loyal Apple customer but no more, Apple just aint got it no more, should not be getting these issues on a phone costing a grand

Just to add I’m on 13.3.1 the latest beta, I have filed a bug report I advise you all to do the same, so far I have
1. Tried a different sim on a different network
2. Tried reducing volume on both phones
3. Tried the signal app call feature
4. Tried both standard cell and FaceTime audio calling , note it does not happen on video
5. Activating the mute button, this does cure the issue but obviously is not a solution
6. Making calls using my Apple Watch connected via Bluetooth, this also had no echo.

hope this helps

I reverted back from the beta 13.3.1 to 13.3 and it seems much improved. Not perfect....

Are you covering the mic or speaker??
Try using it without a case and keep your fingers away from the mic/speaker opening

They all do it, to anyone reading this thread please install the latest beta file a bug report and turn on analytics and lets help get this bug fixed it’s driving me insane, according to my account more than ten have filed a report so that means that apple will probably be trying to find a solution

I just tested this with my wife and if you put the phone at mid-level volume the echoing goes away. This is something that will cause Apple a huge problem in the coming months. Seems with the new feature that makes the phone sound as if it has a surround sound, is what is causing the echo sound. hope this helps as this was my work around.

Which phone do you have and what version are you running? Mine does it even with the volume at the lowest setting, obviously it does it less but its still chronic, I am so disappointed with the last two phones Ive had both the 11 and the Xr, wish I’d kept my 6s plus, I know it wasnt the fastest but it was solid, user serviceable and the speakerphone worked correctly

I have the iPhone Max Pro and I am on iOS 13.3.1. I tested the volume with my wife as she was out and we were both on speaker which she has the iPhone 11 and when I lowered my volume to mid level volume she did not hear the echo any longer. If I raised it to max she would get an echo and said that it was unbearable to hear.

I guess its affecting different phones slightly differently, on my reduced volume hardly made any difference though switching on mute on my end and then the other side talking completely cured it although it’s definitely not a solution, it even does it on 3rd party apps such as telegram and signal using their calling features, I hope to god Apple solve this issue as I am rapidly loosing faith in this company and if this issue isn’t solved it will be android next time, I do also have a watch 5 for the ecg feature due to a heart condition but as I saw looking around there are other alternatives with ecg on them so jumping ship is possible though I would rather not, if I do it will be permanent as I shelled out on this phone in the hope of keeping it a few yrs, if I have to sell I will loose money, if I do its not a mistake I will ever repeat.

You can add us to the list of having this problem also. Two new iPhone 11 Pro, purchase 12/21/19 one on 13.3 and the other on 13.3.1 beta. Adjusted the volume to just under 1/2 and still have the echo problem.

since I read this thread I have been testing my 11pro. And I’m not affected by this problem. Regardless of volume. iOS 13.3. Serial:F17Z...
