Update: After experimenting some more I have found that on the iPhone 11 Pro IOS 13.3 Public (17C54) the echo is not as pronounced as the iPhone 11 Pro IOS 13.3.1 Beta (17D5026c)
What i have tried is:
With case and with out - still have the Echo
Volume at different levels - still have the Echo at all levels
That the IOS version has the most effect on the problem - 13.3 Public some but not too bad, 13.3.1 Beta echo’s so bad can’t be used.

This is only affecting the iPhone Pro Max.
No it doesn’t it’s affecting all models of the iphone 11 as the thread clearly states if you actually read it all

Just to add I’m on 13.3.1 the latest beta, I have filed a bug report I advise you all to do the same, so far I have
1. Tried a different sim on a different network
2. Tried reducing volume on both phones
3. Tried the signal app call feature
4. Tried both standard cell and FaceTime audio calling , note it does not happen on video
5. Activating the mute button, this does cure the issue but obviously is not a solution
6. Making calls using my Apple Watch connected via Bluetooth, this also had no echo.

hope this helps
2 seems to work but sometimes it is useless since she can't hear me then once the echo is gone.
Curious why 4 happens? Why can't the audio just be the same then when there is no video?

Having this same issue on my 11 Pro running iOS 13.3.1 public beta. Not sure if this was still occurring on the 13.3 public release a week ago but I can't go on speaker at all anymore as the other person always complains that it is too bad for them.

I have this issue too. Very frustrating. Hoping a software update fixes this.

Another update:
called a friend on the iPhone 11 Pro ( IOS 13.3.1 Beta ) NO CASE, selected speaker and he had the echo, while he was still on I switched to the iPad Air 3 ( IOS 13.3.1 Beta ) on the iPhone 11 Pro and NO EHCO.
After the holiday I am going to call Apple Support just to get on record with this problem. Suggest it you are having this problem that you do the same.

I already got in contact with Apple Support yesterday - they ran diagnostics and didn't find a fault. After discussions with the senior advisor, they suggested downgrading to the 13.3 public release and then running more diagnostics after. I haven't got round to doing so but downgrading would probably fix the problem anyway...

Without going into a long explanation as to why I can’t get into my backup of the old iPhone running 13.3 public I would half to do a new iPhone setup. I’ll just half to wait for another 13.3.x update.

Had the same problem of echoing on speaker receiving end. Took it to Apple and they basically took the beta version off. Restarted it and now it works a lot better. People are telling me they still hear a little echo but not as bad as last time. This is most definitely a software issue. Thought i was the only one.

Up, Up, Update: Spent some time with Apple Support today and am going in on Monday to have the phone replaced as it it still under the return time limit.
After going through the wipe / restore to 13.3 New Phone Config, (still have the problem) and then the update to 13.3.1 Beta New Phone Config, (still have the problem) and a restore to current config, I still have the problem. This is with out any case or screen protector.
I do suggest that anyone having this problem that you contact Apple support if for no other reason than to get this problem noted.

Last Updaate: Took the phone back to the Apple store today. Was going to get it replaced but decided to let them do some testing first. they found that the “receiver” part of the display was bad, they replaced the display and all is now working. Even with IOS 13.3.1.
Works with a case and a screen protector.

Got my iPhone 11 replaced today. That was a huge waste of time. The issue persists on iOS 13.3.1.

John123, didn't you have them call the new phone and test the speaker echo problem before you left the store?
I tested before I left. But there was nothing to be done more, other than wipe, downgrade to 13.3, and test again. I didn’t have that kind of time.

Understand the time involved. Did the Apple store say anything more about the new iPhone. I don’t know the name of the test that they did on mine but it was for the speaker and microphone that found the “Receiver” bad on mine. (The small dot on the right at the top of the screen in the notch). Hope you and others get this resolved. We all payed a lot of money for these and they should work.

I felt pretty convinced it was a 13.3.1 bug at that point. So I didn’t ask a Genius to come back.

I do think the design is prone to echo. My family sees this on 13.3, especially holding the phone from the bottom. I fear that’s always going to be an issue.

To all of you still flowing this thread and experiencing this problem i would encourage you to go to Apple support and or the Apple Store and get your problem on record. Its my opinion that we paid $1K for these phones and they need to make them work. I understand that there is a "Time Coast" and a "Frustration Factor at having to do this. I just don't think "Hope" is a good fix. :)
OK I'll stop now, good luck

Hallo,
I am on 13.3.1 and I had the same problem, I was in apple store and they check the phone and don’t find any problems so they make a 1:1 change. But the problem is still there. Now I am waiting for 13.3.2 maybe the echo problem is fixed there.
We had 2 othe 11 Pro Max with 13.3 and there is no such problem with echo there. So I think the Software is the Bug.

Tuesday I bought the 11 pro Max got it home & all set up on beta 13.3.1

Just like everyone else my speakers have the same issues. I can't hear, they can't hear me and trying to use an automated system, like Kroger's pharmacy sends me to the floral department! It hears EVERYTHING & more. Too bad I can't take roses for blood pressure! Lol

I did make a new feedback post regarding this. I did call Apple, went through their checklist on the phone. At this time she said I could wait it out or bring it up for a diagnostics test. I have an appointment on Tuesday at 11am.

Question I have for everyone is - since we think it's a software bug - should I still go to the Apple appointment????

Hi,
I was in a Apple Store and they check the Phone but didn’t find any issue so they make a 1:1 change.

so will say just wait for 13.3.2 ore go back to 13.3 to see if there you have the same problem.
