I know Apple charges your card when it is first shipped if you are having it shipped to home, but does anyone know what happens when you preorder for in store pickup? Is it just charged when you pick up the phone?

I’m only asking because I was just notified that my credit card had fraud and was being issued a new one this week so didn’t want any issues. I’m hoping it’s not really charged until I pick up and can just use my new card.
I did a pre-order on my XS Max. I live in So. California and did a pre-order to pick-up an XS Max in Portland, Or. (Tax-Free). My card was charged when I made the pre-order. As long as the phone you pre-order is available to sell, the card will be charged. Here's one unrelated difference though, the pickup date is when your 14-day return window begins. Do not let them tell you otherwise. I had issues with an XS Max, so I had to exchange it. The Apple SA told me I was out of my 14-day window until he checked with the mgr. who then verified I was still within that 14 days due to the date I picked-up my phone. Also unrelated, the pickup store you choose, is where the state tax applies to.

No charge here still, order status says processing still, got confirmation 30seconds after placing order at 5:01am

You need to use a different browser than Safari to register. Sad, but true.
I used Safari and had no issues with adding a loan to my Citizen one account.

Might not be active until you pick up the phone.
Hmmm. I was able to add my loan without an issue and still haven't picked up the pro Max yet as it's not available. I belle as long as you have the e-mail from Citizens one of the approval you can just use that to enter and should be fine.

Yesterday I got charged the taxes for the one I preordered with iUP. 20 minutes ago got charged full amount for the one I’m paying in full. Both being picked up Friday at the store.
