Integrated graphics for $1699? Nope. I was really hoping it would have some discrete option, but this will prevent me from buying it.

$1699 is confirmed with the exact leaked specs.

Every leak, so far, with every device presented so far, has been accurate.

Wow, the leaks are getting good at this stuff.

After the leaks didn't get my hopes up, To me there is nothing Pro about the 13" has been the same case past few years, Integrated every refresh it is becoming the norm.

Tiny storage space. Integrated graphics. Dual core processor. Nearly $2,000.

The screen isn't THAT good. Overwhelming pass on this one.

the rmbp 13 is basically launched a year before it shouldve been. Haswell is where this should be at.

Thing is I found the storage size quite small, it should have been at least 256gb

Agree with all of this. I could've MAYBE justified it to myself with a 256 drive but this is just ridiculous. Glad I'm not in the market this year.

1,700 is a little steep, even for me who's been saving since my macbook's screen died. i think i paid 1,500 for that one and it had 256 gb and in the 5 years i owned it i only got maybe 60. so i'm fine with 128, i could get an air but i want a retina so i'll just have to bite.

Yup.. Apple has really gone mental this time. They know we'll pay the amount their products cost. But usually you get a prime computer..

It certainly is a prime computer, I have no doubt about it. But I also think Apple is pushing too far here. With a US$ 1,699 price tag, I was expecting 256 GB of SSD. And I would expect a Core i7 processor and 256 GB SSD in the US$ 1,999 model. But then Apple delivers less than expected. It's a hard call to pay US$ 1,699 for a laptop with a 128 GB SSD; ditto for paying US$ 1,999 for a laptop with a Core i5 processor. The 15" model has a quad-core Core i7 processor, a dedicated graphics card and, still, it costs only US$ 200 more...

The correct value is 74 Wh, so, again: good guess! :)

Oh damn. My first guess (75WHr) was closer. Hah!

I'm bummed, though. That means Apple's battery this time is 10% less dense than I expected. While it's 7.5% heavier than expected.

Also 8% thicker body than expected as well. Seems like they were overly afraid of overheating so they gave the device approxmately 10% more volume for air.

And here's the kicker: you don't even get an option to upgrade RAM in the 13" model to 16GB.

$200 more gets you a quad-core CPU, dedicated GPU, and a much higher resolution display in a slightly thinner body. The only trade off is an extra 1lbs to consider. But heck... I think something is wrong with Apple this time around. I expected a premium for this computer, but it's beyond my expectation.

Yes, I guess this one came up overpriced.

The processor of the 13" rMBP is faster than the 13" MBA, but it costs pretty much the same, as it's not so energy efficient. There's also 8 GB of RAM, but 128 GB SSD is hard to swallow. It deserved either a 256 GB SSD or a lower price point.

----------

That's below my expectations and again Apple delivers less than expected for a ludicrous price tag...

Yes, Apple is doing that again and again. US$ 1,999 for a laptop that's not even equipped with a Core i7 processor... I guess it's unprecedented.

I am disappointed at the 13" rMBP. I think I'll just wait for Haswell before I take a decision. I would need 256 GB on a Mac because I have to run Windows alongside OS X, and 128 GB would be a little too low. And I am not paying the price (which is US$ 4,100 im Brazil) for the higher end model, which doesn't even come with a Core i7. I am not convinced that the HD 4000 can handle well such large resolutions. And power management of Haswell will be far superior. In addition, there would be some interesting Windows 8 offerings as well. I absolutely don't like the way things are going with Apple.

The problem is... Apple has always been this way. I think you were just expecting too much.

May be. Apple used to be this way, but in the last revisions they managed to use some good processors. The 15" rMBP, for instance, has a quad-core Core i7. With the 13" model, however, I feel that Apple is underdelivering and overcharging.
