By now, the hype is over, it's like I've ordered a 3DTV that's still sitting at the warehouse for no reason..

I ordered a blue sports to prove my point.
You would have thought they shifted production on highly-demanded models..

According to your screenshots, you will receive the watch you ordered first between 29/05/2015 and 11/06/2015. Based on this information, the watch in question will arrive in 24 days at the earliest.

Given the information you have, I'm not sure a thread was warranted. Seems like you could have called Apple and they could have told you the same information. Or are you just upset because one model was less popular and thus more available?

Clearly you're already wearing a watch, or you have no plans to. Because you would be standing on my side if you early-preordered and got nothing to this day.

Yet your gf/bf gets to wave it in your face every single effing day. Be honest, this was a disastrous launch.

You say as if 24 days is no big deal, forget the past 25 days. Why make so many stupid blue watches anyway, no one wants them. Make the models people ordered, they had 2 weeks before launch to get it right.

The watch is here my ass.

I don't get it? It clearly says 4-6 weeks. Why did you order it, if you couldn't wait 4-6 weeks for it.

Yea you maybe lucky and get it before the actual promise date but you can always cancel your order or simply pay extra on ebay if you want it today.

So to answer when the ***** will you receive your damn watch?
In 4-6 weeks like it stated when ordering.

The 42mm Sport SG is the most popular model. Supply is already as low as it is and demand is extremely high. Most people that preordered that same model within minutes of preorders opening have yet to receive theirs.

On the other hand, the 38mm Sport w/ blue sport band is one of the least popular models. Supply is low, but so is demand... hence your quick ship date.

Did they tell you a different shipping range when you ordered it?

I ordered on 10th at my local launch time. The website said 4/24-5/1. Me and a few friends ordered together on the same wifi network.

They got their emails in 3-4 hrs, I got mine past midnight, hence the 11th date. My friends are all wearing their watches now.

I called my local Apple Store support, they couldn't care less.

Why did you order it, if you couldn't wait 4-6 weeks for it.

Wasn't what they promised. Plus people who ordered the same model with a June shipping date are already wearing theirs, hence, where will I receive mine?

The 4/24 delivery window was 4/24-5/8, so it's impossible for it to have shown that. Even accounting for regional variation, all people got 2 week estimates. The only variation so far is NA orders have 5/13-5/28 while EU orders have 5/12-5/27.

So your point is that you can order the less popular size with the least popular band now and it will ship because they are manufactured and ready to go and have not been ordered in as much quantity but that your preorder for the more popular size with one of the most popular bands has not shipped yet some 11 days after launch and really you are upset that your friend or whatever got the smaller size sooner.

I think there may be an inverse relationship between smart tech and its users. As the tech gets smarter, the users get ....

Really this thread is dedicated to jumping up and down like my 5 year old in the grocery store when he asks for some sugar cereal and tell him he can't have it. Patience is apparently a virtue lost on the me me me generation.

Ok.. Typo. Great.

They had time to fulfil preorder requirements, if mcdonalds made all burgers and a bunch of school-kids came in all wanting mcnuggets, do you still make burgers? No, you shift your focus producing the most popular model.

Launching is selected countries is like free research on which model will be most popular. React faster.

Having patience in tech is like using EDGE on the iPhone 6.

What was the timestamp on your 38mm Blue SB and when did it ship? I ordered mine on 4/28 as well around 930am PST, and it's still processing.

I find it humorous that most people declaring the launch a disaster are those that haven't actually received their watch. You should have known that a first run product of the first of it's kind for the manufacturer would have low initial supplies.

From reading your response, you should have titled this thread "I lost the production/shipping lottery and I want to whine". You already know when to expect the watch, you just want to complain about it.

I guess I have a hard time understanding why people are so obsessed that they will order the wrong size and the wrong color just to get it now because they can't wait a couple more weeks for the one they have already ordered and actually want?

You have no idea about the reality of logistics, manufacturing or product launches, especially if you are comparing the Apple Watch or any tech product to McDonalds.

But I think you are on to something with a bunch of school-kids.

You already know when to expect the watch, you just want to complain about it.

And I shouldn't because? If you and your neighbours ordered Google Fiber, with a 2019 promised date. Yet their houses are now all hooked-up and you still got the 2019 date, would you just sit there?

You have no idea about the reality of logistics, manufacturing or product launches.

I have some idea. I live in Hong Kong. 1 hour drive away from Shenzhen factories across the border. They can build the iPhone, pack it and deliver it to the apple stores here in less than 3 days.

If you thought an Apple watch takes more than a day to be built, I have bad news for you.

No, i get it. I get the frustration and I was there a few days ago.

All that I can say as a person who was LUCKY enough to be chosen to receive a watch from them, is that it is really worth the wait.

It doesn't mean I'm happy with what Apple has become though.

We interrupt this temper tantrum for a dose of reality.

And when a new iPhone model is launched every year. How far in advance do they start manufacturing those units. And how many skus are they dealing with. 6 now with the two sizes and colors and they still have shortages at launch. But eventually supply catches up to demand. How many Apple Watch skus are there. You've got 4 different cases not including the gold. And then umpteen bands to go with them.

/resume tantrum/

This sounds rich. And what has Apple become, pray tell us.

Ordered and received confirmation email April 28th 10.04pm HKT.
Arrived at my door, May 2nd at 1.15pm. Only because May 1st is a holiday.

Good luck to you :)

I can tell you from experience, not very far.
Guess who's to blame for creating so many SKUs?? OHHHHH... YEAH.
And should they have set up a contingency plan in case this happens to certain SKUs?

You mean to tell me Apple, can't spend some money on focus groups
or even an internal poll, to determine which models will be popular,
after the initial announcement over a year ago.

----------

I was there a few days ago..

So now that you have the watch, you're calling me silly for being impatient? :(
