The 16" MacBook Pro has my full attention.

I continuously switch between a 27" iMac and a 13" MacBook Pro...doing the same work, and the difference is just too dramatic. I want to be able to do more work on the laptop and get away from the desk more often, and the potential of a 16" MacBook Pro has me very interested.

Assuming it does indeed have a better keyboard (I highly enjoy the Magic Keyboard on my desk) and physical escape key, I will definitely consider it.

It really should have Face ID instead of stupid Touch ID, but Apple seems determined to force this inferior tech and experience on pro Mac users. Touch ID is a terrible user experience on MacBook.
I was thinking about getting a $6000 mac pro tower but decided on getting a 16in macbook pro with a EGPU box with a fully loaded macbook pro and then every 5 to 6 years trading in the old model and upgrading to a new macbook pro. Really want a mac pro tower and can afford it, but it would sit at home idle 80 percent of the time. So when i retire 12 years from now, then i can get one where it will get more use.

iMac Redesign anyone?

While that's what I want - an iMac less bezel (more thickness is OK), HDR display, better CPU/GPU, T2 chip, FaceID and 802.11ax - they released a new iMac in March. Though that one was underwhelming, they are fairly unlikely to release a new one now.

Too bad, I want a new one to replace my 2013 iMac. The last one just felt too underwhelming not to wait one more iteration, so at least I wouldn't get stuck with old wifi for many years to come.

I think the new XDR display and $1k mount design is going to work it’s way down to the next iMac design. Once manufacturing gets streamlined, the mount will become cheaper to produce. I think the mount would be incredible on the iMac, just like the arm on the iMac G4 was.
While XDR would be great, I think it will be saved for iMac Pro.

All iMac really needs are (1) redesigned chassis designed for better thermal dissipation, (2) smaller bezels to look more modern, (3) T2, (4) all SSD configuration, and (5) minor spec bumps here and there (e.g., Wi-Fi 6, latest CPU and GPU, USB 4.0).

Properly will get the next 12.9...think i have decided pro max and 12.9 is my perfect combo.

This always cracks me up. The base model is 64. They offer 256. All you're saying here is: "I want to be the person who buys a base model, so Apple just needs to upgrade their base model to meet my needs."

No. There are plenty of people with no need of anything more than 64 GB. Those are the people who get to save the $100. Not you.

I can't stand the way people continuously think that they shouldn't have to buy more than the base model, even though they are exactly who the mid and upper tiers are for.
Yet, the base model storage has steadily increased.

I wonder why some people always feel the need to defend Apple's choice here, esp. when we already know the base storage increases over time.

A "Pro" iPad with "Pro" pricing but only 64 GB storage is a sad joke in 2019. And using your logic, we'd still be stuck with 16 GB iPads and iPhones. It was more acceptable 2 years ago and when the pricing was much lower to have a 64 GB iPad Pro, but that time has passed.

It seems unlikely they would launch Apple TV + without another event to more explicitly promote it, and late October would be a great time for a marketing push. So the timing makes sense.

Fingers crossed they will also announce new iPad Pros!!

Apple's already written off TV+ and started giving it away for free. They're not spending more money promoting it.

There should be a lot of new Mac stuff, the Mac Pro launch, the Macbook Pro 16in launch could be a refresh on the Mac Mini and the iMac Pro and iMac. It should be Mac month. I am getting a new 16in macbook pro or if they update the Mac mini might do that. Should be a exciting month for Mac. You can not say that Apple is ignoring the Mac community this month :)

It's impossible to expect new iMac or iMac Pro since there isnt any CPU for iMac. 10th gen Intel CPU isnt out there yet.

I’ve been holding on to my 2012 iMac. It’s hobbling along and still works well but Catalina is the final macOS update that it’ll get. I’m looking at an iMac Pro and it would be nice if it received a design update. An edge to edge display, an articulated arm like the new Mac Pro display and Face ID for auto login and Animoji like tools would be great.

ARM!

Truthfully though, while I think Macs will eventually go ARM, I don't think it will begin with the iMac and I don't think it will begin in 2019 either.

Looking forward to Apple tiles. And more info about the new Mac Pro and XDR display

It's going to be an A12X-chipped Apple TV device (upped specs for better gaming on Apple Arcade) and a big celebrity-filled rollout for the November 1 debut of Apple TV+

My 2012 MBA is barely holding it together, and I just need it to hold out until the end of October so I can figure out whether to get a current iPad Pro at Costco for a discount, or get a new one announced this month.

Hold on buddy!

My guess is that there will be an October event where: we will be updated on the status of the Mac Pro, new 16-inch MacBook Pro, and possible new iPad Pros, an updated Apple TV, Apple Tags, and the rumored AR glasses. We'll just have to wait and see...

Judging from the past 5yrs, this year isn’t an October event year. And why would it be? Everything that got released in oct 2018 has already been refreshed, the iPhones are out and nothing new is ready. Ming chi quo has already came out and said the ‘15-‘17inch mbp isn’t comment untill2010-2021. (He made a Statement yesturday.

My guess, the new iPad pros, mbp and tiles might happen in the YEARLY spring event next year.

Interested in a new iPad Pro, A13X and 6GB will probably seal the deal, though there was that rumour it would still be using the A12X (in which case I might just try and hold out another 12-18 months for the 5nm A14X equipped model). Still really impressed with my gen 1 12.9 on iOS 13, so it's still definitely more of a want than a need currently!

Will keep half an eye on what they do with the 16" but I'm fully expecting it to sit at the very top of the lineup so probably more than I'd entertain. Potentially more interesting is the 15" Surface Laptop meant to be released tomorrow. If it comes in at or under £2k for a 512GB configuration with a nice 15" 3:2 display think Microsoft might just have a convert. Unfortunately Apple don't seem to want the business of 15" Air (or reasonably priced, non-broken-keyboard 15" Pro) customers.

You're holding out for the wrong things.

There are absolutely no updates coming to Apple TV or AirPods anytime soon. There are no products in Apple's catalog that are less in need of updates.
