I'm going to guess October 16, so this give people a chance to get there new iProducts before the Halloween celebrations.

Indeed, maybe I am wrong but I recall that being with reference to the Mac Pro, not the mini.
Oh, sorry. You're correct--that was the reference to the Mac Pro.

They didn't say anything about the Mini other than "that remains a product in our lineup and we have nothing further to say about it."

I'd love to see a new Mini. Not because I would buy one or have use for one. I just want yearly hardware updates and for Apple to confirm a commitment to the Mac.

Finally!!!! This is the one I've been waiting for! Our whole workgroup needs new machines. We've been sitting it out for 5 years now.

We would have upgraded machines every two years if Apple had upgraded the processors, etc. on the Mac Pro.

And no, the iMac Pro was a no go, we're using between 34" and 42" monitors, 128 GB RAM, etc. We are still running the 2010 Mac Pro's with newer nVidia cards.
And you think they're going to mention anything about Mac Pros because... ?

I *long* since jumped off that train and switch to Windows 10 PC. I'm sooo glad I did. Windows 10 works really well, extremely stable, and I can upgrade anything any time I feel like it. Apple might as well just drop their pro consumer / business line entirely.

It won’t happen.

Apple doesn’t care about the Mac, and hasn’t since about 2012/2013.
What kind of lies? They updated Macbook Air with new processors AND introduced butterfly keyboards!

Actually, Windows can update anything any time it feels like it, and then my customers call me to ask why their computer stopped working or started switching on by itself ;) or I have to install an update to Windows Update so that Windows Update can download updates...

I’ll be [finally] replacing my 2009 iMac. Looking forward to sorting through lots of options!

ME TOO, FINALLY!!! Lol

Omg! "MacBook Pro Herpes Edition 2018 (c) macintoshmac" is the funniest thing I’ve read on these forums. Pro Herpes1 or 2? lol.

Isn’t Apple announcing events two weeks in advance? So 23th or later?

No, at best it’s 10 days. Normally about 8 days in advance. So Monday/Tuesday next week for 16/17th invites makes perfect sense still.

Especially given that it most likely won’t be today, and the next two days are weekends.

The Mac Mini is in desperate need of a refresh, os the sooner the better. Our old 2011 mini needs to be replaced for sure. Even iTunes alone is getting too much for it.

My 2009 isn't even useful for playing youtube videos anymore, and I've been waiting since about 2013 for a worthy followup to the great 2012 Mini. I gave up this year and built a PC.

Lets not forget that the 12" MacBook is also ripe for a refresh unless it is going to be EOL'd. HP just introduced an convertible model using the new Amber Lake 5w Y-Series CPU with an integrated Intel LTE modem that is a custom part built in partnership between Intel and HP.

How many people would buy this solution should Apple release the same thing along with one or two Thunderbolt 3 ports as HP has with the Spectre Folio?

I am not sure why Apple has such an aversion to adding LTE capability to its portable Macs, but there is a sizable number of people would buy an LTE version should Apple offer one to its customers. The overall package ends up being a bit heavier than others.

The question is whether or not Apple is going to keep the 12" MacBook in its lineup or discontinue it in favor of the 13"/14" MacBook (Air) replacement for which we are all waiting.

They care about the Mac as far as it supports IOS development. Beyond that, not so much.

Until they release the tools for other OSs (Windows, Linux etc.)

I think the real date is 30th October or so.

Microsoft out with new surface studio. Great machine.

If nothing comes from apple until 10.16.18, i will switch and call Apple to go to hell...

I bet Apple will hold the event on 30th October, with the invitations being sent on 22nd or 23rd. I highly doubt they will host an event before the iPhone Xr goes on sale to avoid overshadowing its launch. I also wouldn't be suprised if they moved the event to early November (probably the 6th?) with the invitations being sent on 29th or 30th of October.

I was reading this week from a couple of sources saying they weren’t expecting AirPod 2 until late 2019. With that info, I just ordered some refurbed AirPods. I figured I’ll use them for a year until the next ones come out, and hand down the ones I ordered to my daughter.

But now if they come out with the 2nd gens this year, I’ll be a bit bummed.

We will likely see an update this year, so you probably jumped the gun.

Also folks, it’s possible Apple has their event in November, something they have also done before.

I'm going with announcement tomorrow to take some thunder away from Google. Event is either the 16th, 17th or 18th. Some things available for preorder on Friday 19th and on sale on the 26th to coincided with XR for sale.
Some products for sale later on November/December.
