I'm not seeing a whole lot of interest on Apple's part in the iPad. They still upgrade it to the latest chips, yes, but those chips are ridiculously overpowered compared to what the software supports and there's no sign of motivation to change this. They continue to increase iPhone size which actively erodes customer interest in having a larger screen available for home use. Stylus development effectively ended with the Pencil version 2. And the release of their touted Classical music app was conspicuously iPhone-only. This was particularly telling as one would expect most considered classical music listening of the kind that the dedicated app supports likely takes place at home. In the end I feel like the iPad was a Jobs passion (to create the computing device of the future) that Cook never resonated with (doesn't sell like the iPhone, and unlike the Mac isn't necessary to perpetuate the ecosystem).
