I bet they will follow the iPhone as first year will be thinner and better battery plus a few perks then the next year will be the more redesign and poss different bands but you can't really reinvent the watch band so more than likely just changes to the case.

I hope they stick with the no camera approach ( that would be odd like the pervy google glass). Nobody, I suppose would mind longer battery life (though so far I have to reason to complain). Full water proof would be great for swimmers. Barometer for people who have no iPhone 6 (unlikely to happen). At the moment I can't see it more independent from the iPhone as it would require yet another contract for data, but maybe that is where the idea for the Apple sim came from in the first place....

Judging by that Gear S watch Samsung released, I would rather not have it be independent from the iPhone. I do not want to manage two phone numbers, have people text one and the other one not get it etc. handoff barely works right between my iPhone, iPad, and Mac (but works great with my Apple Watch), but to me it just isn't worth the hassle.

I keep seeing people say they want a camera in this. Why? Do you think this is a Samsung full of useless features?

I would personally love to see an new model within a year from the start, but I doubt it. I would say it will take at least 1.5 years before a new :apple: watch will be sold.

I was wondering whether the original idea of that Apple sim was to have the same number for two devices, rather than being a non specified sim that then can be used by any carrier.
As things are I totally agree, yet another phone number would make things complicated and messy.

After watching the breakdown of the watch, it really seemed like they could slim down some of the mechanical components thus allowing more room for the battery to expand. I think this is probably the most sought after feature, extended battery.

One thing i'd like to see is a slightly better screen. When Apple has to recommend that you use a black background to make the app feel like it's running from side to side without any edges, they should just make the full screen usable and have developers account for the rounded corners.

Lastly, i think the sensors need a bit of an upgrade. Not being able to read your pulse because of a tattoo was a pretty big miss by Apple.

 Watch Lazy

Basically the sport edition minus the health sensors for a $250 price tag. The new entry level.

They'll double CPU power, then clock it to same performance to get more battery. Add a better battery. Then use the extra battery to power GPS and LTE and keep the "one day" battery.

Apple Sport Watch 2, $349 for base, $449 for LTE.

Longer battery, gps, sim, durability, waterproofing, camera ect.
apple is very good about leaving out technology that has been around for years and on every other device. they know you will buy their less productive model and buy it again when they add more outdated features.

This is actually a great idea. They should make a super basic model, just for notifications. Maybe give it a plastic case, like a G-Shock.

Because I don't see the Apple Watch taking off at its current price. Everyone likes to bring up the iPad, but $499 wasn't a bad price for what you got (a potential laptop replacement).

But $349 is too much for the Apple Watch (for the average iPhone user).

I'd love to see the numbers in a few months. Something tells me that Apple will stay quiet once the launch hype dies down (which really isn't even hype, it's just fans that can't get one. The general public couldn't care less).

I'm enjoying mine, though

1) Better sensors : Blood pressure, humidity, blood oxygen, hydration, stress etc. All of these are possible with current technology.

2) Better battery/ more dependence from iPhone. Right now the watch is just an extension of iPhone and can't really do stuff on its own. Would be nice if it had more independence from the iPhone in the form of being able to have its own data and GPS.

3) Thinner design- would be more appealing if the screen blended in with the band more smoothly rather than the current design which still sort of looks like a nano strapped to my wrist.

4) Faster 3rd party apps - self explanatory. It's still more efficient for me to pull out my phone than it is to try and navigate and open third party apps. Might require an update of the hardware.

5) True waterproofness

Really?? It's already taken off... :p

Not really. We don't have any numbers. Sure, there are tons of users here waiting for their watch, but not because it's super popular. Apple is having problems producing them. If it weren't for the haptic engine problem I think they'd be much easier to find.

So no, they haven't taken off, yet.

The form factor will not change for second gen, but expect the key feature to be longer battery. More powerful chip clocked to the same speed blah blah.

Other than this not much will change between the first and second gen. To both give first gen buyers a reason to feel happy with their purchase, and give better reason to those who waited for the second gen.

The third generation though will be a form factor change. Which will get everyone to buy one.

Your right no numbers posted yet... but looking at the activity of this forum as well as apple's track record for producing large quantitys and the wait list It's not to hard to see sales will have dwarfed any smart watch to date.... Not sure what your on about haptic because surly that assumption is just as baseless as the numbers that have yet to surface.... :p

Taptic, it's why the watches are in short supply. WSJ has sources from inside Apple. All of their information turns out legit. You should start reading the news on this site.

The short supply isn't because they're selling so many.

Camera + facetime.

Better voice command integration (maybe they can do this on v1 with SW updates).

2-day battery life (instead of 1-day).

Reduce thickness of "tin can".
