I only have 250MB and it's ridiculous for 2016.
To have to worry about going over the limit.
I think they should offer 1GB LTE PLUS unlimited 2G data as the cheapest plan.
PLEASE VERIZON...Make it happen. You will make millions happy.
It's not fair how websites are growing in size and the data they offer is terrible.

Doesn't work that way...few carriers are going to up the minimum data plans unless they all do it.

1gb plans aren't that expensive anymore...if 250mb doesn't cut it for you, then you'll have to buy a bigger plan.

To expect Verizon to give you more data for the same price is a nice wish, but hardly going to happen. Especially not on such a low plan.

1) I can recognize the self-entitled whine of a millennial anywhere. They expect others to hand them things instead of taking responsibility for themselves.

2) I got my first job at 14, haven't been unemployed since, and at times took a second job, so i don't really care how old he is or if he already has a job. I'm sure he could figure a way to make (or an extra) $45 a month to get that which he so desperately wants.

Yes....it is that easy, unless you have the expectation that you shouldn't have to work for the things you want.

I question your grasp on reality.

Apple hit it out of the park with the 6s, if that is not listening to customers I don't know what is. Removing the Sd card in the s6 by your standards shows Samsung was as "arrogant" as Apple was.

I'm trying to understand your point of view, but I can't quite get what youre attempting to say; seems more like sour grapes for some reason.

But Samsung brought back those features. Instead of saying "to hell with what consumers want, we're not bringing those features back" aka the Apple approach. The 6S is a good phone but it could've been improved in so many ways. Meanwhile Samsung knocked it out of the park with S7. They used the feedback from the S6 to build a solid S7. The 6S honestly is slightly better than the 6, while the S7 is a huge upgrade over the S6. There are certain areas that Apple could've easily improved but simply chose not to. And it definitely isn't sour grapes dude. I actually have a 6S and a Galaxy S6 Edge. I'm still thinking abut getting S7, however I may wait for the Note 6 to drop.

But this thread isn't about Apple vs Samsung or android or whatever. It's about Verizon so I'm gonna try and keep it that way. Apple is an arrogant company, much like Verizon is. But again I'm not saying that's bad or good. I'm just stating what I and many others see. I don't see Verizon bringing back unlimited data for a long time, if at all.

They are timing the announcement to coincide with Apple's event where it will be revealed that iOS is being retired and all new iPhones will run Windows 10 Mobile.
Ha, it would be worth it just to see the reaction on this forum

You're a little late to the party. This article was published almost 3 years ago: https://www.yahoo.com/news/verizon-t-data-caps-made-lte-waste-money-174539123.html?ref=gs

What you want will never happen. People are using data more than minutes. Fewer people are using their phones to talk anymore. The current generation wants to text and cruise the net. For the carriers this has become a cash cow. Do you remember the cell phone plans of the early 90's? Maybe you got 60 minutes for $300.

Pray tell...What market forces are out there which will topple Verizon and AT&T from their lofty perches?

T-Mobile has seen people flock to them for last several quarters and the earnings are strong, but no one is challenging the big Two a la Blackberry.

What an interesting conversation so far...... As someone who has been in many states from CA to Ohio and back, and as someone who has actually had T-Mobile... Verizon has no competition in my mind. From my grandparent's farm in northeastern Iowa to Texas to Ohio to the high desert in California... I gladly pay the slightly higher rates for the far better service. Now, if I was hurting for $, I probably wouldn't be with Verizon... But, I'm only paying $81/mo for 18GB and $20 per line (Verizon family plan). My friend, my sister, my wife, and I split the data so it's actually pretty cheap - we only use 7-10GB/mo but it's nice having data there if we want to use it.

I have coworkers with Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile. More times than not when I have strong LTE they're struggling to load web pages and stepping outside to make calls. Tho, Sprint has gotten a LOT better in my area in the last few years... AT&T and T-Mobile have basically nothing.

You get what you pay for. I don't see unlimited data coming back anytime soon... maybe when they get 1GBPS 5G ... but even then, they'll milk what they can as long as they can.

I actually have to agree with dcpmark to an extent. First of all data on your phone is not a necessity, it is a luxury. If you want something you have to work for it. If this person is a teen with no disabilities, I don't see any reason he can't get a job. Doesn't have to be official, could be walking the neighbours dog every weekend, pet sitting, mowing lawn, etc.

When I was 15 going to school (not in the USA) I use to sell candy during school hours. Yeah it was wrong / illegal at the school however I used the profit made to buy a decent lunch. I didn't once complain why schools didn't give free lunch in my country. Here we have someone complaining about data which is not a necessity.

Is the person a teenager or is the person an adult with adult bills? I also find it hilarious that you're talking about the past as if it's relevant to right now. Also, considering he's acting about Verizon ... tales about outside of the US are more or less pointless. You take any job you can get around here, even if the pay isn't what you'd like.

If the person is as adult with bills the point stands that of is not necessary, unless he needs data for work. Where I am from Verizon is quite affordable in contrast.
For 2GB we pay 20 USD for 3G speeds. However we mostly get 2g speed. We pay per minute and per text. A 16gb iPhone cost over 1,000 USD.

What's the pay you ask? For recent college graduates on average its about 700 USD per month. Minimum wage is 70 USD per week. Good luck even finding a job there. The easiest job to get is call center working 2-3 dollars an hour.

Edit: I am all for wanting cheaper prices for customers, don't get me wrong. But at $45 for 3GB, I don't think its a rip off compared to the competition. I do use T-Mobile and have never used Verizon so not really defending T-Mobile. As they say, in life you have to make sacrifices, can't have all you want all the time. Hopefully op will be able to change his situation soon to be able to afford a better phone plan.

Umm no it's not about adopting my policies. A lot of the features that I've mentioned before are things that a lot of people wanted and still want. I just want Apple to do better. The 6S was a good phone but it could've been better. There were some areas that Apple slacked off on. If you don't agree then it's all good. IMO Apple could've did better. Sour grapes? Lol don't think so dude. It ain't that serious

You WERE talking about Apple and Verizon. We (i)get it; both companies products and services could be tweaked in your opinion. It's not about being serious, dude; I wanted a free upgrade to the 6s, did they listen.:)

I have had all four major carriers and AT&T is my favorite.... Currently have Sprint because it's the cheapest and the service isn't bad in NYC though once you leave the metro area that isn't near a highway LTE coverage drops slightly. Verizon had good overall coverage but had a few dead zones. Anyways T-Mobile is great if you mainly stay in cities and don't travel often. I hate T-Mobile because it was expensive ($120 a month for my by my self) and customer service was terrible.

The thing is society has made it where having a smartphone is considered a "necessity".....

Here is what Apple going to say: don't like it? Go buy Android or whatever.

They are the worst then when it comes to customer loyalty.

I would strongly disagree but I'm on the other side of the fence where the grass is much greener.

I still have my unlimited LTE data on my Verizon account and even though they stopped offering it 5 yrs ago they still let me keep it since I don't upgrade my one line that has it. The data plan went up to $50 a month just for that one phone but seeing as I use 40GBs on average every month it's worth every penny.

What plan was $120/mo? The highest they offer now is $95/mo for unlimited talk, text, and data.

I don't think so. What makes it necessary? I still see people using non smartphones and get by just fine. Granted I wouldn't want to be without my smartphone but I don't consider it a necessity.

Isn't that the way all businesses operate? I find the notion of arrogance in a company amusing; a word with negative connotation describing a company with superior products, services and revenues. Considering you have the services of both companies seems like a basic disconnect.

EXCUSE ME, RED LOBSTER. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DO NOT SELL A BIG MAC AND FRIES. OH DON'T PULL THAT "GO TO MCDONALD'S" CRAP ON ME. I AM A CUSTOMER! I HAVE RIGHTS, INCLUDING ALWAYS BEING RIGHT!

Like for serious. There are four major carriers and a number of smaller ones. If you don't like what one offers compared to another, USE THE OTHER. It's also easier to offer unlimited data when you have way fewer people on your network.
[doublepost=1463408644][/doublepost]
I still don't get it. Apple sold multiple tens of millions of 6s's; who isn't getting what they want? A minority of Internet posters?
I have found that these Internet posters each believe their desires are exactly the same as those of MILLIONS of other people. I personally don't really care for an SD card slot. That's kind of what iCloud and Apple Music are for. When it comes to starting at 16GB, well, Apple sells a bunch of those. Not everybody needs 64GB or 128GB. Yeah, I wish they'd start the models at 32GB myself. But they don't. I also wish the 64GB model was $100 cheaper and the battery lasted twice as long. Apple doesn't just make these specs up. If people gobble up the 16GB iPhone, there would need to be a compelling reason to lose revenue on doubling the storage for that model. At some point it obviously will increase, maybe this year with likely a new number next to the phone model. But if you want more storage, buy another model!

Funny part is nobody adds in the fact you have to pay taxes on top of the plan plus the finance of the phone.....

Unlimited 4G: $70 bucks
Phone financed $30 bucks
Jump!: $10
Taxes made it come out to around $120

This is also a plan that no longer exists.... That same plan would now cost me around $150.

I was paying Verizon $140 a month for better coverage and 10GB of data plus adding my iPad to the plan.

All carriers now add the price of the phone on top of the monthly payments

I feel pretty good about my 5GB with AT&T for $85-87/mo. (after my 21% corp discount).

T-Mobile would love to have you as a customer so just come on over and BINGEON! Some of the responses here sound like they would be Verizon customers, just giving you the finger.

You could buy a cheaper phone and not get Jump! that would save like 20$.
