Unfortunately my new phone slipped out of my pocket getting out of my car and dented. This new aluminum is extremely soft. All good just a battle scar.

Dang that sucks. I am not sure if I’m going to risk going naked often. Granted, a scuff or scratch on titanium also annoys me. Either way, a drop on concrete is going to usually show some damage.

For sure. I hate cases. I understand the risk and have paid for screen replacements and back replacements thru AppleCare. The phone is so much better without a case, with that being said these phones are way softer than any of the past ones.

They are ugly phones to begin with.
These beautiful iPhones arent meant to be in a case IMO. I am in the upgrade program as well so have AppleCare+ and trade my phones every year
The pros aren’t beautiful phones. It cheap looking. Ugly glass square in the back with an oversized camera bump. The are horrible. A case so the best thing for it. Cover it up.

Sucks that It happened so soon, but glad it's only a surface wound.

There used to be a company called slip stopper that made some kind of plastic sticker that fit on the back of the iPhones. They were thin & unobtrusive, but gave the phone just enough grip to allow me to feel comfortable going caseless. They must have gone out of business because the last phone I was able to get one for was the 5s. But man, I would buy one again in a heartbeat if they came back in the market.

I used to use invisible shield, and then best skins ever for protective clear films in place of a case. Neither still exists or makes the product,‘though, AFAIK.

I’ve only ever had aluminum iPhones and it’s always been pretty easy to get dents in the frame with fairly innocuous drops. If you’ve only ever had Pros that haven’t used aluminum for a long time I can see how this would be disappointing, but kinda comes with the material.

It's not rocket science, it's material science. The way Apple have built the Pro phones this year mean they're far less durable than before. It's not OP's problem if you don't want to admit it.
What are you talking about? they used the same unibody construction style the MacBook Pros have been using for like 2 decades and no one has complained about the durability of those machines..

1) if someone dropped their MacBook pros 3 feet onto concrete their problem will be more than a slight scratch.
2) not unibody constructions are the same even if they have the same name, the lap tops are thicker.
