You could always try dbrand I guess.Sucks that It happened so soon, but glad it's only a surface wound.
There used to be a company called slip stopper that made some kind of plastic sticker that fit on the back of the iPhones. They were thin & unobtrusive, but gave the phone just enough grip to allow me to feel comfortable going caseless. They must have gone out of business because the last phone I was able to get one for was the 5s. But man, I would buy one again in a heartbeat if they came back in the market.
A rigid metal would just pass the force onto the glass with predictable results. Aluminium might dint but I'd take that over a screen crack.I guess Titanium wasn't so bad after all...
Return that toy and get a titanium Air.Unfortunately my new phone slipped out of my pocket getting out of my car and dented. This new aluminum is extremely soft. All good just a battle scar.
He never said he expected it to be pristine, he said it took more damage than similar drops of his previous phones.

There's an easy remedy for that, however. You do realise that AppleCare doesn’t cover cosmetic damages such as these.
It wouldn't make sense if it were made out of durable material, like what the cases we put on them are made out of. Why can't we just make the thing like it's meant to be held and used by a human being? So your phone hit concrete or some other extremely hard service and dented, makes sense.
MacBooks Pro are not held in the hand all day every day, several feet above the ground. They're used on a desk, or a lap. Dropping them is rare. As such, the priority in their design is thermal performance and weight for portability, not drops. What are you talking about? they used the same unibody construction style the MacBook Pros have been using for like 2 decades and no one has complained about the durability of those machines..
How so? He said it's all good. I haven't used a case in 15 years, and it's all fine. This confirms my hypothesis that the sort of people who don’t think they need a case probably do need a case.
Well then lolThey are ugly phones to begin with.
The pros aren’t beautiful phones. It cheap looking. Ugly glass square in the back with an oversized camera bump. The are horrible. A case so the best thing for it. Cover it up.
Thanks brotha! Appreciate the adviceDon’t want a scuffed phone? Use a case. It’s not rocket science. And yes, this applies to any iPhone iteration.
A lot of hair splitting in this thread so I will join in and split the split.
The OP isn’t talking about damage, he is talking about cosmetic damage. Durable does have an operational component, ask anyone with hard jobs in brutal conditions, so what the OP is talking about is better characterized as ‘less pretty’ than ‘less durable.’ And many people couldn’t care less about less pretty. Many people see it as a tool. Tools show wear from use.
I tried the d brand skins but man they felt awful and even more slippery!I used to use invisible shield, and then best skins ever for protective clear films in place of a case. Neither still exists or makes the product,‘though, AFAIK.
It already started with the iPhone 6, which was super slippery with its rounded edges.Apple's phones since the X have poorly designed bodies for being far too slippery.
I do I am an avid user of said plan lol. Well aware of what is covered and what isn't. A small dent on my phone isn't that worrisomeYou do realise that AppleCare doesn’t cover cosmetic damages such as these.
Totally agree!I think the dent gives your iPhone character now 🙂
Whose complaining my man? Just simply stating this phone is way softer than previous ones. If you can't admit that maybe you have ADS? (aluminum derangement syndrome)Two accidents are never the same , so he is right. And if you are prone to drop all your phones..use a case instead of complain
seeking attn? Isn't this a conversation forum? lolsame was for the iphone 5/5s/6/6s etc...they all get dents or scuffs depending if you have alum or stainless steel or titanium. If i know that i drop my phones...i learn from mistakes, and do something about it...the rest here is just seeking attention
lets not forget this ip 17 are more sctrach resistance than the prev phones
Ya um its definitely a dent lol. But good tryWell, when I dropped my 15 Pro the first time, with a case on, it landed in a way that the frame bent right where the top speaker is.
When you drop things, they may show deformations. That’s expected as @Thor_9 pointed out.
However, you never mentioned how any of your previous phones „reacted“ to being dropped from, probably, less than a meter and, probably, with a slowed down fall due to hitting the car frame or something else on the way down.
Also, what you show us here is a scuff, and not a dent.
Pay attention![]()
