Where are the 2024 AW leaks and rumours? [MERGED]

Honest question: Is a relevant amount of people outside the US even interested in Apple Watches? Or even Smartwatches at all?

I don't know anyone who is interested in things like that and the least thing would be an Apple Watch. Maybe some sporty people use some kind of fitness tracker, that counts their steps and shows them the distance they walked.

When I see an Apple Watch in Germany it's always a big Streamer on YouTube or Twitch wearing it or prominent people with much money on pictures or videos in the news. But I can't remember seeing one anywhere in real life on any average person.
As an American currently living in the Philippines, I have to say there’s a lot of people who have Apple Watch here.

Just got off of the plane yesterday with 3 different country airlines (Korean, chinese, and Japanese). All of the flight staff from the 3 different countries were wearing Apple Watches 👍

Back on the thread topic, there was a 9 to 5 article today on the new release, saying that the 41 MM will be discontinued and now there will be a 45 MM and a 49 MM.

In Italy I see people with smartwatches anywhere I look (apple, samsung, garmin, etc.), also german tourists have them :)

+1 for Italy: a lot of Apple Watch and a lot of Garmin smartwatches in my experience. An Apple Watch Ultra 2 for myself, despite using it on the right hand with a mechanical watch on the left.zs6

Every single nurse in dialysis where I am at the moment is sporting an Apple Watch. One an Ultra. One also has an iPad Pro 12.9, Oura ring, colour ereader, etc, Yep, they are out there. And this os in a small town (7,500 people) Canadian dialysis unit.

I, a dialysis patient have one and will possibly pick up an AW 10 depending on the specs.

If you’re looking for rumors, here’s one:
They’re discontinuing stainless steel.

That’s more of an educated guess than a rumor, though, since all of the stainless steel bands are unavailable for delivery (even on new watches). Plus, they use minimum stainless steel outside of Watch so eliminating it would optimize their supply chain.

My guess is they’ll replace it with a new premium line (eg Watch Edition) with the new thinner 45/49mm form factor while leaving the regular line largely alone. This would also explain the two different size rumors and be similar to their iPhone X launch.

Edit: I suspect the Hermes stainless steel will stick around but be based on the mainline Apple Watch

My guess for when they‘ll discontinue stainless steel: NEVER.

It is the classic Apple Watch look/finish as well as the most used material for regular (dumb) watches, by far.
Even after swapping my many steel watches for the titanium ultra, it just is a total classic. My wife has one as she absolutely loves it compared to the aluminium

I have a 6yo Series 4 44mm and will replace it with a Series 10 49mm for the more robust health sensor.

I'm 173cm 82kg @ 16% BF and I want more health measures towards my becoming healthy BMI 20.0 of 60kg @ 10% BF by Halloween 2024.

Apple Watches are very popular in Europe and smartwatches in general. I travel to Germany a couple of times a year and see them on people’s wrists there just as frequently as in the UK. Nearly all my colleagues in our German office also wear Apple Watches. I can’t comment on the rural areas of your country.

That could be costly for Apple as those with smaller wrists who currently buy the 41mm watch may explore other products if forced bigger. Maybe they’ll design it in such a way the increase isn’t as much as the current 45mm? I think they’ll have to. The 41mm watch looks huge on my wife’s wrists now, she wouldn’t get away with a 45mm.

Anyone know if the starlight color will be offered on the 10? I noticed it's getting hard to find in stock now with GPS. At least in my area, no delivery on it either.

I am hoping Apple will do either a ring, or a Fitbit style band. I love my Ultra 2, but if I want to wear a proper time piece, I then am no longer tracking the activity rings etc (as I don’t want to wear two watches!)

That's the issue I'm facing. I own multiple "nice" watches (Rolex, Omega, Etc.), so I have a Whoop that I wear with them so I'm not missing out on tracking without having to wear two watches.

The issue I face is I end up missing everything my AWU does and I go back to it within a day or two, lol.

That‘s it, isn‘t it? If it was „only“ about the health features, a band or ring could replace the Watch, but it is just so darn versatile and convenient with all the other features it has.

i am torn with the 45/49 rumor. idk whether to keep the 45 ive had for pretty much gen 0. i know it was 42 then 44 but still very similiar, the 49 looks huge imo. but i may want a change. ugh

I was already considering going to a 45 this year. My wrists are fairly small, but my eyes aren’t getting better, and if I ever need to actually respond to a text or something, it‘s challenging. I don’t have a huge collection of bands at this point because I had pared down to my few favorites, so not a crisis there.

I currently have a SS series 8, but going to go back to aluminum in the larger size. I just don’t want more weight.

I just wish it would be a little thinner/more streamlined.

I have child sized wrists and have the Ultra1 and absolutely love it. I still have 2-3 years out of this watch before I decide to do my normal watch upgrade cycle, but now I have to wait until Apple activates the blood oxygen sensor, as it is a much needed feature to work alongside my cpap machine, so I will be keeping the Ultra and AppleCare+ monthly for the time being.

Yeah my wrists are small too but I’m really ready for a change. Think I’m inching to a 49mm

I was surprised that the Ultra did not look bigger than the 44mm that I have. I was appreciative of the bigger and brighter screen.
Can you upload a picture whenever you get a chance? I’m wearing my 45mm Hermes daily and sometimes I think it looks small haha

Excuse the crack in my screen protector.
