Born and raised on the mean streets of Brooklyn, NY. And by streets I mean a small bedroom filled with lots of computers and other nerdy electronic gadgets and toys.

Boston, born and raised. Lived in Germany last year. Possibly returning this summer for another year.

Indeed, why is UK separate from Europe?

I'm from Costa Rica!
It is a beautiful place, you should come here and check out the beaches on both the Pacific and Caribbean sides, and the mountain area up north. And the rain forest. And hot springs. And lakes. :D

And yes, we "ticos" have a reputation for being walking tourist offices. :p

I am from Connecticut, USA.

We have the highest per capita income and house value.

State song: Yankee Doodle

Highest per capita income, and, back in the 90's (dunno if it's still true today), the highest percentage of children living in poverty. Thus school systems in Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport struggle while school systems only 3 miles away (in the urban ring or the 'burbs) thrive.

There's a movement afoot to get CT a state punk song (and perhaps to displace Yankee Doodle with a punk song that is the state song) -- you can read about it here.

It sounds like the song may suck.

So why is the UK separate from Europe?
Why no Antarctica?
I can't speak for the lack of Antarctic representation, but I did find out on another forum that many folks from the UK don't regularly call themselves "Europeans"– that label being reserved for folks from "the continent". But that's just what I hear... I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong! :)

I'm from the east coast of the US, the New Jersey 'burbs to be more specific.

why is Australia spelled Australasia?
and i wonder about the UK too, since everything else seems to be based on continent and not Country.

oh, and i'm from the United States, Chicago, IL to be exact.

Why do people keep asking "why" questions essentially directed at the OP when s/he is banned? :p

I am from Connecticut, USA.

The state capitol is Hartford, the City With Nothing to Do In It™. Here are some facts to familiarize yourself with Connecticut.

I voted Asia since that's where I am right now. But I am originally from the US.

And PlaceofDis, I'd have to agree with Nickster and say that Joliet is a suburb of Chicago.

Born in Chicago. I've lived in Illinois, Iowa, California, Tennessee and have been in South America for the last quarter of a century. ¿Como está, ya'll?
