Where will you buy the iPad 3 from

Best Buy. There's no Apple Store in CStat. Also I prefer ADH with mobile products like phones, laptops, and iPads, which so far Apple Care doesn't offer for an iPad.

Maybe AppleCare+ will be offered. If so, I bet it's to compete with Best Buys "Black Tie".

I work at Best Buy so I'm debating whether or not to buy it from there because of the slight discount we get (which, btw, is made up in sales tax soo....) plus using the Reward Zone stuff I already have. Can save some $$$

But also tempted to just pre-order from Apple and pay for "overnight" shipping. No sales tax from them, which would be nice.

I thought you had to pay apple sales tax? Also, as a fellow BB employee do are you going to get Black Tie on it or just role with a defender case or something?

I worked at Best Buy Last year for the iPad 2 release and we sold out everything we had and it was crazy we had a few customers get angry and yell at the manager about things that were out of his control

apple.com

Easiest option I can think of.

I couldn't agree more. I work and have no interest in wasting several hours of my life or half a day queueing and neither am I interested in walking around London chasing stock.

The second Apple opens the gates to online orders I will make my bid and have my iPad 3 peacefully delivered to my desk at work.

Simples.

Yea, have to practice my mind reading. How can you REALLY expect anyone to be able to answer your question with anything other than a dumb response or a guess? Aside from EVERY store being different depending on many factors do you think we can read Best Buy's mind on how many iPad 3's they will have in stock? Reading some of the questions here is just too funny.

A approximate number is all i was looking for. If i see the majority of people responding 25 30 40 35 28 then im going to guess probably between 20-50... wouldn't you guess that? Of course there has to be a big boy here that has a big mouth. Mr Tough guys...

I guess here on the forum is where you can actually be the "tough guy." Its cool kid, if you got slapped upside the head a lot in school and got your lunch money taken away from you when you were a kid, no need to come over here and take it out on people you will never meet. Or just maybe your still getting punked and this is where you can talk back. lol.

I live in socal (Southern California, USA) in Orange County...people here are surprisingly aware of technology and with so many affluent neighborhoods, people can afford to miss work or school for a day t__t

There are a lot of Best Buys and Apple stores within this area...within a 15 mile area (most of which is accessible by freeway, so it's pretty quick to go from one place to another), there are about 4 Best Buys, at least 5 Targets, and like 3 Apple stores maybe?

If I go Apple store I might go to either Irvine Spectrum or Fashion Island or South Coast...for Best Buy, I'm gonna hit up South Coast for sure...with Magnolia and Pacific Sales in store, it's a pretty large store!

I'm in the Pasadena Area and its pretty nasty here too. Have to go to the outskirts a bit. I'm just curious to see how soon people line up. This is my first apple launch of anything. I know if this was a new xbox or nintendo system a 1-2 day camp would be minimum

Going to have to wait till Walmart has it so I can get my discount.

I bought mine on march 11 last year at best buy. Arrived st 3pm and was about 25Th in line. They had about 10 of each model and each color. I left with 16gb white wifi. Just sold it and my wifes on craigslist for $415 each. Will do the 18 month deal again.

I'll be hitting up Target primarily because of my employee discount and 5% red card discount! :D

Same here! I worked the last launch but I intended to be on the opposite side of the counter this time. Side note, the calls for iPad 2's lasted for weeks. It became so predictable and frequent that mentioning we have no iPads became my spiel when picking up the phone.

Well hopefully there will be preorders, in which case I'll just buy online. If not, I definitely am not going to the Apple store, which will certainly be packed. Last year, I was about 12th in line at a local reseller about an hour before the doors opened. Pretty much painless.

Does anyone know if there is any information about any pre-orders on the iPad 3?

Uhhh... No.

Technically, the only thing anyone *knows* is that Apple is holding a media event on Wednesday. They could come out and announce a new iPod nano for all we *know*. :D

The media event invite as well as all the leaks and rumors strongly suggest a new ipad, but in terms of official word, Apple has said NOTHING.

Accordingly, there is no information about ordering / preordering the device which has not yet been announced.

Got my name on a reserve list last year for PC world, walked in on launch day at 6.30 and gave them my name, easy peasy :)
God I hope I'll be able to do the same again this year.

I am, like many of us, hoping desperately for online preorders. If I can order online and get it on day of release I would MUCH prefer to do that.

However if not I may well go to queue outside an Apple Store on release day. IIRC my local Apple Reseller didn't get stock for release last time (I think I remember them talking about it on Twitter. I will have to ask) and I'd prefer if I queue to have to wait longer but have more chance of sufficient stock. I have over a week of time off I have to take before April, so a day on this would seem as good a use as any.

I'll be ordering online from Apple

I have few incentives to order online
1. I already have an iPad
2. my credit card pays me for ordering online, at a tune of 5% cashback
3. Until I'm able to properly configure the new ipad I'll be using my iPad1 most of the time

It all depends on when they go on sale. Best Buy is a given, I guess? And Target? This is the first "launch" for me so I have no idea.

I probably won't be lining up; I have a job and no nearby Apple Store to rush off to on lunch or after work. I do have a Target near to work, though. Hmm.

I guess Online is still my safest bet...

Does anyone know if Sams Club sells on launch day? Seems like it would be an easy place to pick one up.
