iPhone 4 kept on an ihome ( had to remove the 3GS plastic adaptor to make my new phone fit) glad it did though was gonna be upset if I had to buy a new ihome and new car adaptor but I just removed all the 3GS pieces and everything works great with the 4 now.

I have a bunk bed, and sleep on the bottom. There are slats to hold up the mattress on top, and some sort of thing between the slats. I put my phone in between the slats being supported by the thingy, with a charger cord running up there to charge it. Here's an awful picture of this using the digital iPhone zoom from my desk across the room:

You can just see the black line running in between the slats, that's the "thing".

A) it's the same glass ...
B) i guess?

C) the lights not BRIGHT enough to light up the entire room anyways.

my phones on my night table, charging. charge it every night so it's good to go when i wake up

It's not the same glass. Go look it up. And I'm pretty sure putting it face down will prevent a lot more light than the other way.

Geez, people will pick out faults for no reason here. That's something to roll your eyes about

I always sleep with my iPhone

Mine stays right by my pillow at night. I used to have it on the bedside table until I knocked it onto the floor trying to stop its alarm in the morning. :p

You don't know how many times that's happened to my older iPhone. :(

The sound of the phone crashing onto the floor wakes you up faster than an alarm ever will.

Night stand face up with my iFrogz case on the back, I am on call 1-2 weeks per month so I need it ready and available.

Go to the Apple Store and buy the iPhone 4 Universal Dock Adapter (comes in packs of 3). It works perfectly in the iHome.
