If I were to get it, I can see using it in my living room. Other rooms just doesn't make sense to me. The downside of the price, is that it makes it financially expensive to put them in multiple rooms.

The living room is the last place after bathroom (electricity and water) that this type of speaker is going to be in for most people, people interested in music in the home generally have a dedicated amp and quality speakers for TV/Movie and music in the living room. With a speaker like this it's natural environment is going to be in a dining room, kitchen, bedroom, patio, etc before the living room, so saying it doesn't make sense other than in the living room doesn't make sense itself.

If you don't have a dedicated amp and speaker set up in your living room and you are interested in upping your audio game then it would be best to start with that and buy a HomePod for another room were the quality of the audio isn't quite on the level you would need in the living room, as no matter how good this sounds it's still only a small cheap speaker.

If i buy one...which I’m still on the fence...Most likely will keep it on my desk in our game room / computer room. This is where I listen to the most music. And having an assistant on the desk will also be nice.

now people are getting theirs are you putting them where the cables are hidden? As I have mine in the living room but cables are quite clearly on show. Not sure to keep it there or move it on my TV stand to hide the cables.

I still haven’t decided if I want it in the master bedroom or the kitchen. The living room has a high end theater system.

Mines sitting on the opening I have between the kitchen and dining area, I don’t have walls on one side of the HomePod with this setup and I don’t know if that’s lowering the audio quality but I want it covering both those rooms with a possibility of some spill out to the patio in the summer time.

The tethered power cable means you’d need a hole big enough to feed the power plug end. At Apple’s first demo, they must’ve taken the plug off to feed through holes just big enough for the cable.

The length also limits HomePod’s placement without an extension cord, which means running behind furniture may be a challenge.

So far I have one for living room/kitchen and one for the office. Ideally I’ll end up getting another one for the living room, making it stereo, and one for the master bedroom.

My Echo has been relegated to occasional Amazon ordering device. And honestly that’s about all it was ever good for.

It is only a little bit over 6 inches tall so buying a table for it . . . . Well maybe wait and see as it can go anywhere.

Because of how big it is I actually just ended putting it on top of my dresser. Its nice that its compact, it definitely fits in more places than I thought it would.
