Looks like you may be out of luck, because on Apple's Store page for Tiger, it says:TMA said:I wont be buying untill I can get some confirmation that I can install it without a DVD ROM. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/119709/
What he saidIt wiil ship with DVD only...if you want the CD you have to pay $9.95 and use the Order Form in the box. This information from the Install Page in a small box on the right hand side.

I see what you're saying, but that can't be right because the clam shell ibooks are shown, and certainly the specs of the G3 powerbook are the same/better than those!Sly said:The supported systems are listed here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html
No support for G3 Powerbooks![]()

I have a Pismo. I'm assuming it's actually supported because it has firewire and a 500 mhz G3. So it's at least as powerful as the slot loading iMac and the iBook shown. I read the screen, the Pismo was missing, and it should have been shown. That's my only point. But I certainly do appreciate the implication that I can't read.toti said:Please, read the screen...
That is a property only ONE of the G3 PowerBooks and ONE of the iBook Clamshells have.
That makes them the lowest common denominator and quite surely not the most suitable for the task.
There may well be other reasons why the G3 PowerBook is not supported ( like f.ex it's funky SCSI interface ? )
