Hey, you can write it however you want. The fact is, most Americans aren't watching. The question for the thread was why, and I gave my answer.

Of course White Sox and Astros fans will be watching, the question is, what makes it compelling for someone else to watch? The way the White Sox's season went, it's simply not that compelling.

The games in this series seem to have been rather exciting, and maybe that will attract more viewers -- though the Astros had better do something soon, or it won't matter that the individual games are so good.

It has been great baseball, the problem is that too many viewers want something more than that. They are not necessarily true fans of the sport. For if they were, they would see some of the greatest pitching and fielding in a long time.

Couldn't agree more. Read my earlier post regarding this subject.

Hmm..It's probably pretty even. Some of us root for both. I used to, then the Cubs organization just really started to p*** me off. Wrigley Field's just become a moneymaking machine for the Tribune Company and the Wrigleyville area barowners. It's so NOT about baseball anymore it's not funny. I used to go to at least 3 games a year- now I can't afford a decent seat in Wrigley. So the Cubs lost me for those reasons. It's possible I could go back, but they have a lot to change before that happens.

id agree on it being rather evenly split, and i dislike the Cubs for the same reason, although, im not a huge sports fan at all, i root for any chicago team, i'm estatic that the sox are doing so well, but if it were the cubs i would be too.

I was listening to NY sports radio today and they said that only 3 teams, Dodgers, Cubs, and Red Sox, would get the country to watch a World Series.

So I think this might be a good time to ask...

I have a Mint-Condition Signed Freddy Garcia Baseball. (From when he was a Mariner) Anybody want to make me an offer?

NBA starts in less than a week

I wonder if Nevada bookmakers are accepting bets on when the first ugly rumble in the stands will take place between fans and players, and whether Ron Artest will find himself in the thick of it somehow?

Congrats to the World Champion Chicago White Sox!

I am happy for Chicago because 88 years is an awfully long time to wait for a championship. Plus, it wasn't the Yankees. The second reason may even be better than the first.

What a run! 11-1 in the playoff's  And to think everyone thought they'd lose the division in September after having a 15 game lead on August 1st. That's why you have a 15 game lead on August 1st! So you can have your cold streak and get HOT again for the playoff's. Boy did they do that :p

I'm very pleased that the White Sox won the World Series. After 88 years this was there year. Chances are the Yankees will be back next year.
