Left and visible, when using my MBP's internal display or a display with 1920x1200 or lower resolution. On my 2560x1600 display I have it on the bottom.

Bottom left, hidden. I found hiding it to be extremely convenient and am still wondering today as to why I didn't do it any sooner.

Also, my dock is fully transparent (with Mirage).

My dock located at the bottom of my screen and hidden

People said they put their dock at the bottom left. I'm wondering how to do this because in system preference I could only find 3 options, either left bottom or right. It would be nice if I could put the dock at the bottom left!

Thanks!

You need a program to do that. I think onyx does it but there are a couple other programs. Just search the forums and you will find it.

Not to split peas, but making it hidden preserves vertical pixels too.

It's those darn new screen proportions! My TV entertainment center will be a piece of junk when my TV dies. It's the first or second most expensive piece in the house!

Hah.

I like it visible because a) I don't have to move the mouse to see what apps are running, and b) when I want to click an icon I can just move the mouse to it, instead of moving the mouse to open the dock and then again to the icon I want.

Mousing is inefficient enough as it is.

On a big screen that is fine. On a 13" you lose too much space.

Fair enough. On a big screen, mousing over to the dock takes a lot more motion too.

What bugs me is that sometimes, when dragging, the target is in the dock popup area. You drag over there, and up pops the dock. You have to drop the file, move the window somewhere else, and try again. Grrrr.
