Yesss Seattle or Portland would ROCK!!!!
PLEASE plant one store up here in microsuck country!!!

PLEAZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!

Philadelphia!

While there are several other Top 10 (by population) cities that lack Apple Stores (NYC, Houston, and Detroit come to mind), Philadelphia has a central location in the northeastern megalopolis that puts it at an advantage in my mind. Plus I live near there. I have two recommendations for specific locations: the obvious King of Prussia, one of the largest malls in the country and very very upscale, and located smack-dab in between the city and the affluent suburbs; or just north of Wilmington, DE, since Delaware has no sales tax and everyone goes shopping there.

Near me

I think they could put one in the East Bay (SF) (since it takes at least two hours to get to Palo Alto from anywhere in the Bay Area due to traffic) probably either in Dublin (Stoneridge mall) or Richmond (Hiltop mall)

Now, I'd LOVE it if they'd put one in Sun Valley Mall (Concord), but I somehow don't see that happening; I'm not THAT lucky 😉.

yes northern california got jipped. i cant believe palo alto is the nearest one. Although east bay would be nice why cant they put one in SF? seems like this should have been one of the first to open.

Good morning Americans (and others)!

What Apple needs is at least one Applestore each
in London, Paris, Madrid and Stockholm!
Why do we europeans always have to wait?
Come on Apple, if H&M can open a store on 5th avenue
in NY, why cant u?

Sorry, I forgot about Germany & the Netherlands!
Add Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg & Amsterdam to the
european cities that (will?) host Applestores first…

ok maybe im wrong here but it doesnt seem like apple is putting their retail stores in major cities. seems like almost every major us city lacks one. can anyone see any particular patern in apple's choice of retail locations?

Berlin, London, Paris, etc.

I'd like to see Apple Stores to be opened across Europe (at least in the big capitals)! 🙂

it's not a consolation, but u could always go to Cupertino....I'm sure the company store there isn't anything like the retail....but about an hour away....better than 2...

this was the closest I got when I was on the west coast this past October....God I wish I were back!!

you came to cupertino?

the apple company store is cool in a zen sort of way, but they don't have too much non-apple inc stuff there like third party mac software titles

across the street at elite computers there is a huge selction of really cool stuff but i always go to both stores when i go up to cupertino

i was lucky to be able to go inside the apple campus once when they had a one time only open house and it was very cool and awe inspiring but not what i expected

it was far more corporate than i expected and was what i thought ibm or compaq would look like and there was a very stuffy feel and nothing like the jeans and turtleneck look or feel of a steve jobs

being a techie, i dressed down like silicon valley techies do to that apple open house event and the apple corporate goons looked at me strange and treated me like an outsider...i should have worn a tie and had that ivy league resume

instead of california cuisine and vegetarian stuff like i heard people rumor about what apple might have been like, there were high fat treats and pizza with pepperoni on it

it wasn't a get acquainted open house deal like they advertised, but a corporate suit "have all your papers ready" type of stuffy event...but even though i looked hard, no lou gerstner there (he would have been proud)

the apple recruiters were acting as if they were doing you a favor and didn't seem to like you if you actually thought different or looked like a liberal or artist...george bush would have been proud

the whole "think different" thing is a front and it is not a starry-eyed existence of trying to change the world, but apple inc. on the inside is like any other corporate entity that has to answer to the stockholders and not the consumer

and depending on your viewpoint, my observations of a day at apple could be seen as a good thing or a bad thing...it just wasn't what i thought it was

san francisco!

You'd think we would have an apple store downtown by now. CompUSA stinks, they have the worst customer service of any store I have ever been in. There is never a single person around to help you. We need an Apple Store in San Francisco!

what ever they want to do!

😱 I think Apple will do what every they want to do!

Lets all vote for London! and more in Europe!

Apple should put one in McAllen, TX.

It is right on the border of Mexico, and they buy tons of stuff! (Don't get me wrong, OK, I'm hispanic too.) Our mall is so packed every sunday, you can't find a parking space. We have a best buy, Comp USA, Circuit City, and even a gateway country (they didn't close it, can you believe it!) Every time I go to best buy, there's tons of people from Mexico with a new com-crapq computer, or HP. Apple could make big $$$ here, especially by advertising the multilingual capabilities of OS X. McAllen is also one of the fastest growing areas in the US.

PS. today, I was in Austin, TX, and I went to the CompUSA there. Apple had these booklets that said "Everything is easier on a Mac", and I took some, and put them in front of some of the PC displays. Later, I saw an employee looking at a display, and he chuckled, left the booklet there, and walked away. It was so funny! I also left one in Best Buy in front of intel's "digital lifestyle" display.

I hear ya man. Im right near you. I live around the Corpus area.

I know that apple has a store near Dallas.. I believe it is in Plano...but the drive is just to far ..i have to make a road trip out of that one. I really want to check out the Apple store though...so im going to do it one of these days.
I would be nice to have it in Mc Allen...thats a good place...Im not sure if it would be better then having it in Corpus....Austin is out because thats Dell headquarters. Either Corpus or McAllen sounds cool to me..maybe Houston but still they should reach lower to Mexico because I agree that that would draw a lot of different consumers..expand thier market.

that just my opinion...so i may be wrong.

Olympics

I think that it would be great if there was one in Salt Lake City for the Olympics. That could attract a lot of attention to apple and the new iMac.

I wish Steve would terminate his alliance with 'inCompetentUSA'. Almost all the stores do a lousy job at selling Macs. Yes, those fools there are commission driven imbeciles. That was a bold, brilliant, and necessary move to open Apple stores. Give 'em hell Steve.

why cant apple open one in Canada??? I went to about 7 stores in ottawa before finding the iBook i wanted in CompuSmart (it was theior last one in stock) and even then you are hard pressed to find anyone who knows what they are talking about or a store that has a good selection of mac software🙁

The Best City of All

I was surprised that noone has mentioned my favorite city, Indianapolis! It's a nice sized city with a few key locations an Apple Store could be built at. For those of you who know your way around the city, how about these?

1. The Fashion Mall @ Keystone (perfect, I think)
2. Circle Center (next to FAO Schwartz, I think)
3. Glendale/other upscale mall (note: not Lafayette/Washington/Castleton)

What do you think?

Canadian stores

I'd like to have a few Apple stores in Canada like in
Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto or Winnipeg.

Apple can't just have stores in US if they want to be sucsessfull.

They need some stores in Canada!

re: you came to cupertino?

I'm actually quite surprised to hear how much of a front u found the whole "think different" philosophy was. I know someone who interviewed some months ago with Apple, and he said I'd fit right in (now I'm not so sure what that could mean?!).....very alternative, artsy, etc, etc....

I really wanted to get a tour of some kind, but the woman at the front desk said the only area we were allowed was the store 🙁
