Sticking with my 8 Plus. I'm not sold on Face ID. Touch ID works wonderfully for me and I will hold out to see if 2019 brings a change

I currently have an iPhone 8. I'm interested in the 2018 5.8" model. It depends on what the new 5.8" has to offer. If it has significantly better cameras(there are rumours of larger sensors this year) along with the usual spec bump, I'll probably buy it. A lot depends on the price too, iPhones are expensive in my country. I paid $1000 for my 64GB iPhone 8, the 64GB iPhone X is priced at $1500.

If the 6.1" model has good enough specs and is priced sensibly over the new 5.8", I might consider that as well. If none of the above happens then I'll stick to my 8 for another year. The 8 serves me well, takes beautiful photos and is plenty fast. The only reason I'm considering buying a new iPhone is because I love the design and form factor of the X. Your suggestions are welcome

No question the 6.5’’. I am hoping to see some exclusive features to the big model though, in addition to the obvious landscaping features. They really need to push that screen size and fully capitalize on the ability of what it can do.

I'll be going for the iPhone X Plus. I desperately wanted to love my iPhone X last year, but coming from an iPhone 7 Plus its screen size was just too small. This is exactly what I wanted. :)

I can guarantee they will highlight the key features for the 6.5 iPhone X during the keynote. They need to sell the more expensive iPhone to the consumer why they would want it just besides a larger display and bigger battery. I’m assuming the camera will have upgraded features, along with perhaps some software indication like Landscape mode, ect.

I feel as if the excitement dwindles with each year. I get excited every year for new releases, even on the Android side of things. I enjoy seeing what these companies are bringing to their flagship devices, but I feel as if it’s coming to an end on features that truly “wow!” Us.

The 6.1" iPhone model interests me the most since it gives me a form factor at a lower price point. I am not paying $1000 for a phone since it's way beyond my means.

I like the sound of the 6.5" iPhone X Plus (if that is what it will be called). The only thing that really concerns me, is if screen protectors will be available at launch. I currently have the Belkin screen protector on both my iPhone X's that the Apple Store applied. I wouldn't want t use the new phone without protection.

Went from 7+ to X on release. I like the screen and from factor of the X, but miss the bigger screen. Bring on the 6.5!!!!

There might be some third-party screen protectors available Pre-launch day that may not be as reputable as Belkin, such as sites like Amazon or eBay, but they might hold you over until more of an official one has the availability to release around the time or after with the 6.5 iPhone X.

I prefer buying cheaper protectors from Amazon. I usually pick up a pack of 3 for under $10, and I'd rather risk scratching a $3 screen protector than a $40 one. They do the same thing as any of the ones I've bought from Apple.

6.5" OLED is the only one that seems like an upgrade from my iPhone 6s Plus, comparing screen size and resolution.

It's annoying that getting the Plus model now requires going all the way to the $1,000 price point. Seems like the flagship iPhone became more expensive in 2014, as Apple correctly anticipated that people would pay more for benefits such as a larger screen. And last year it happened again, this time with OLED as the justification.

To be honest, I'm not sure what to do. I am on a budget, so the 6.1 LCD phone seems like the obvious one. But I'm not that fussed about having a brand new device, and I don't need the latest and greatest - the main reason I'm upgrading is that my old iPhone 6 is finally dying, with a broken button and dodgy charging port. My 6 was second hand as well. I had a Windows Nokia phone before that (Loved that device, because it wasn't trying to be an iPhone - it was just doing its own thing), and a second hand 5 as well. So second-hand doesn't bother me, as long as it's in a good state.

So given the options, what's the major downside of a 2017 iPhone X for me? The phones a year out of date, which is an obvious downside, but that's not a big deal for me. On eBay UK, prices of the 2017 X are already down to around £700. Could they go as low as £600 once more X's are listed as the 2018 phones are delivered? Would it be cheaper to buy a second-hand X rather than a new 6.1 LCD phone? The specs of the X appear to standup very well to the 6.1 LCD device.

I'm a relative Mac newbie (huge iPhone fan, but can't afford a MacBook...yet...working on it!) so hoping someone here with more experience can tell me if I'm missing something. But for me, the 2017 X looks like it would be a better option than the 2018 phones.

Would you consider an iPhone 8 or 8+ which is essentially an iPhone X with an LCD screen and TouchID? If you’re not bothered about latest and greatest much like myself, an older design shouldn’t matter too much?

That's a good point, an 8 (I don't need the larger 8+), is also a good option. I'll be honest, I don't know why I prefer the X over the 8. I don't need the latest tech/processor/camera (I'm really not doing any heavy lifting with my phone, or taking amazing photos), but for whatever reason I am drawn to the design of the X. I realise that does somewhat contradict myself a little, but hey, I can't explain it. :D

But yeah good point - if I'm considering the 2017 X then I should also consider the 8. Other than the phones being a year out of date, I can't see a disadvantage for someone in my position. And an 8/X price saving would allow me to upgrade from my very old, no longer supported, Series 0 watch. :D

X Plus for sure.

Bigger screen and better battery life are a must for me. I feel like my X spends so much time charging throughout the day—never had that issue when I had the previous Plus models.

I’m hoping to get the X Plus, upgrading from the 6S Plus..
Which is still running perfectly fine, so I’m kinda doubting whether I should uograde or not.. what would you guys say?

I like the iPhone X 5.8”, but it’s too small for me, I like the Plus sizes a lot more

If You are already using an iPhone 6s Plus, then you will likely be way more comfortable using the iPhone 6.5 iPhone X, as it will be more in line to that specific size, as I also believe the 5.8 iPhone X is a little small for my expectations. After using the Plus model iPhones for years, I really don’t want anything smaller than a 5.8 iPhone X, which the 6.5 iPhone X will be exactly what I’m looking for.

Just stop past an Apple store, Best Buy, Target, etc, so you can see and touch the iPhone X. That way you can figure out if it’s too small for you.

Definitely not the two big ones, I don't want a brick as a phone...

What could actually convince me to buy the smaller XS is a lighter weight compared to the regular X I have right now. Problem is: the majority of people is fine with the current weight and dimensions...

I have a 7plus now and want to go with the 6.5" What is the size difference between the two....speculation

To the OP, your post asks which 2018 iPhone interests you. Every years iPhone interests me. But the real question I think you meant was which 2018 iPhone am I interested in buying? And I won't know the answer to that until the phones and their prices are released. This is also one reason I didn't answer your poll.

iPhone X Plus @ $999 - on ATT Upgrade and likely same monthly payments as my X, ~$30.

Forbes and MacWorld UK Estimated prices.

Apple’s investment ROI would allow XS to be $899. Unknown is 6.1” LCD.
