Obviously. Not my point. I never knew i'd ever use more than what I have, therefore i agreed. I told background story to make more sense on the issue.

Is there something i should be adjusting to reduce data usage?
There's no way the usage you describe uses 2GB. I use my phone a LOT, I stream hours and hours of music every month (probably an average of an hour or two a day), I go on the internet, use apps, etc, and in a heavy month (i.e. lots of streaming radio) I might get to 1.5-1.8GB. Before when I wasn't using cellular for streaming, maybe 500MB/mo for heavy usage.
Yes, less pandora streaming or video streaming over carrier data.
There's no way you play 5 songs and do some safari browsing for 10 minutes and rack up over 2GB in 12 days.
There's something more you're forgetting to mention or those things you said above are way off from your real usage.
Also take responsibility for switching your data plan and dont blame it on the AT&T rep.
There is no update or ios fix to change your usage habits.
LTE doesnt use more data, people usage use more data.
^^this. My faith in MacRumors forums is restored a bit by intelligent posts like this.
The iPhone5 only uses as much data as you request. It's amazing how many people, tech nerds, on an internet board, can't grasp data usage.
^^and this.
Grandfathered in, I wish we had the option to buy another 1GB for $10 if we go over cause being throttled sucks but 5GB should be enough for me. But then again that wouldn't make sense since we're technically "unlimited".
That would be the best way to do it. "Unlimited*" for everyone, and then offer to do another gig at full speed for $10 and allow you to buy it by text.
*You will be throttled to 200kbps after the first 2GBs.
I'm sort of jealous for a second whenever someone mentions unlimited until I remember my 2GB plan is cheaper and I can tether without being caught. That, and there really is no need for more than 2GB most of the time.
