Dug out a old goodie:

If you look close, it’s still one of the most premium cases.

Update on the Paragon. So it turns out the screen is just a fraction of a mm above the lip with a UG screen protector installed (I initially thought it was dead flush). How do I know? The screen protector is chipped where it lightly bumped the edge of a drawer, which prompted me to get out a metal ruler to check carefully. So it seems the case is designed to be used without a screen protector installed, which is counterintuitive since Caudabe themselves sell screen protectors. Just more annoying weirdness from this brand. I’ll be returning the case and the razor sharp buttons that don’t fit properly. When will I learn?? 😭

I’ve had fit issues with Benks too. The usual types of QC issues: inconsistent tightness around the edges, sloppy fit at the port and camera control, rattling buttons, etc. As Sal said, you may end up having to order multiple copies to get a clean one.
Damn that’s disappointing to hear. Looks like I’m going to give the Ultra Guard a shot. No sharp edges, still a fairly slim profile and light at 35 grams. Any issues with this one I need to be aware about?

Appreciate you all for the info 🤝

Do you have the Pro or Pro Max ? it seems that the Pro Max of the Ultraguard is a bit loose around the CC Button and power button. I have been rocking my Ultraguard on a normal sized Pro since Jan and it has been solid with no sagginess at all.

The good news is that Pitaka’s QC is generally better than Benks’. The bad news is that QC across the board seems to have gone down in recent years and it may take more than one Pitaka to get a perfect copy.

The Ultra Guard (now called “Summa”) has a <1mm screen lip, which is very low for a TPU case. Those cases that do have near-zero lip typically have either raised corners (Phone Rebel) or raised edges along the top and bottom (Caudabe). If you run a screen protector with this case, the screen will likely make contact before the lip. I’m guessing this isn’t an issue for you since you were already OK with the Edge, but it’s worth noting.
