Tekmomo owner confirmed to me that his current and future cases are compatible with 17 Pro and 18 Pro series models. But he noted that if you put 18 Pro into 17 Pro case, then cameras will be almost flush with camera lip.

No this isn’t an ad for Samsung. Samsung doesn’t know who I am and I paid for my Z Fole 8 myself.

IMO, this certainly doesn’t instill confidence in the design of these phones/cases.

I get the idea and possible benefit of the early warning system, but I guess I’m still firmly in the no-fold phone camp.

Though I do like the more robust ones.

I have a Z Flip 3 here, so I have some experience with folding phones and I have to say, I am intrigued. Also, people seem to be smitten with the Fold 8 and its form factor. What I'm not excited about is the price tag of these devices. I'm gonna have to see how these phones fare and then I'll decide if I try the Fold 2 or iPhone XX next year.

Ryan London’s website already has 18 series cases up for sale, although, those are probably the same 17 series cases.

Yeah I was so excited for my RL that I ordered last year and what arrived (with delay) was so disappointing…. Made me sad.

The open-bottom case tapered at the bottom so much that the bottom of the case sat flush with the screen, offering no lip above the screen. the leather was really dry. it just wasn't the same quality as they had before.

Oh, I've just read a lot of negative things about their open-bottom design. Looks like closed-bottom model is much better this time.

I’m not fond of this aluminum phone, so definitely don’t want the same thing at a higher price. I may very well go for an Air 2 in the spring though.

I haven’t seen a folding case yet that wasn’t unfortunate. Seems to be the nature of the form factor. These things are probably best used caseless.
