My Bavarian Bua leather case is like that. Soft and grippy. The Nomad traditional in Horween leather I had here was an absolute bar of soap in comparison.

Nomad traditional and bellroy I have are not slippery after a few weeks use.
The spare bellroy I havn't used is a bit slippery.

So, about the Techwoven… For a year I shunned this case because I didn’t like the feel when I went to try it in the first week, and later didn’t deem it protective enough. All the reports of damaged phones with this case made me hate it. And then came the delaminating…
A few weeks ago, after almost a year in super protective cases, I realized I didn’t drop my phone as often as I feared I would and switched to more minimalist ones. It was mostly leather cases, but also other not so protective cases I own.
Then people started posting “one year in the TW” reviews with all the pros and cons, and last week I saw that the TW cases were on sale on Amazon and thought… what the hell. Let’s see what the fuss is all about.

I received a perfect copy (tight fit, no delaminating sections and no glue residue). Long story short, after a few days in this thing… I get why people want to sing odes to it. This case is something else, somehow. And I love it. 😭 So much so I ordered myself the purple fog Apple Watch band to go with it 😂

It’s a great case in most respects: excellent hand feel, just the right amount of grip, perfect buttons, zero fingerprints, and it’s relatively lightweight—what’s not to like? The only thing really, is that a single drop may result in a dented phone.

For me personally, if I’m going to take that risk anyway, I’d rather go 100% minimal and run the Pitaka Edge instead. It’s significantly lighter (nearly half), has even better hand feel (I know that’s highly subjective), and provides about the same amount of drop protection (very little). To each their own, of course—I’m glad you found a new case to be excited about. 😊

Speaking of minimalist, I miss this thing. Apple’s thinnest—but also toughest—iPhone ever. People overlook the toughness, but that’s what I miss most about it (I’m getting tired of all these heavy cases to protect the fragile PM aluminum frame). An Air2 may be in my future.

Because of your posts I nearly pulled the trigger on an air this year. Went and looked at one at the local store, it’s a wild phone! The air2 will be tempting.

That is one chunky phone when folded (I assume that’s how it will be used most of the time). Cases are going to be all over the place with different solutions—this one seems too thick for this device. Frankly, I’d probably just use it caseless.

That BearCase is chunky AF. Thin cases are a must with these foldable devices. I plan on grabbing one of the Latercase, Thinborne or Aulumu ultra-thin aramid fiber cases.

I decided to order a Canyon Sheath for my Blue 17PM. I have never had a Sheath, so hopefully it doesn’t disappoint. I returned a Paragon earlier this year as I thought it was too slippery.

Using my Sienna TW a lot lately and using it till the Canyon comes in.

Just received the Canyon Sheath and the color is nice and it looks good with the blue phone, what little you can see of it. The feel and grip is interesting to me. It seems to have slightly more grip than the TW, but less than the Silicone. The phone feels like a solid block with the Sheath on it, which I also like. I like it so far, much better than the Paragon.

These are the cases I kept returning to. I think the Tank tops the list when it comes to time spend on my phone. Still the Goat in my book. Even though right now every case is on hold because of the TW.

I had my 17PM in a te4chwoven case for almost a year now, and I was a bit skeptical at first, but after several drops, no damage to the phone nor the case. I'm liking it a lot and I came from Apple leather cases exclusively since my 3GS.
