So for those of you getting the 18 Pro Max, what case are you going to get if you plan to buy the phone on release day? I know when iPhones are just released, there are not many cases to choose from as case companies are still making their cases.

Knowing what I know now about 17 Pro cases, if I had to get a case for an 18 Pro for release day: I'd just grab an Apple case (TW or whatever they come up with for the 18) again and then wait and see.
That's also what I would do if I were to get a Duo/Fold.

Man I’m not liking how none of these cases protect the iPhone fold power and camera control buttons. I understand the power button because it’s Touch ID but at least protect around the button instead of two big cut outs

It’s probably harder than it seems. I looked at Pitaka’s patent on their button (Pitatap) and it is quite complicated. Of course, no existing buttons for conventional cases would work, so Benks would have to develop their own button technology that works as well as Pitaka’s, while not infringing on their patent.
