Which color should I get white or black?

Why would you ask us what color you should get? I knew better than doing this when buying my iPhone. I went to the checkout screen, and right away picked the color I liked most between the two. Posting around is just going to delay everything. GET what you want.

This post hit in on the head...I have a black 3G and hated the visible finger prints, scratches, and smudges. I opted for the White 3G S and couldn't be happier. I for one don't like cases so mine just goes in my pocket...and no I have had NO problems with scratches because of that...I've had the original, the 3G and now the 3G S and none of them were scratched up because of my pocket...as long as that's the only thing in that pocket. 😀

Swapped for red? Excuse me? Where, China Town? Unless you're talking about Colorware, or you're a real sucker for customs, I don't know what kind of iPhone you had / have... 😕

I don't get how white is feminine.

If all men were black and all women were white then I can see this but black and white are not feminine or masculine colors. If it were pink now that’s a different story. I had the Black 3G for a year and decided to go with the white for a change.

White is cool but it can be viewed as a little flamboyant and Gay for a man. It does really scream look at me.

I got black because my wife has white, and its nice being able to tell them apart. Get what you like.
 
I know a couple who are very politically correct and they told me their gay friends ALL have white iPhones. Seriously, that's what they told me when I was thinking of getting a white one.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...
 
I got black...i like the look of it but I use a cover anyway so you can't really see the back...😛
Personally, I liked the look of my 2G's aluminum back...very "Mac"...

The color will represent whatever you like, Manly, Edgey, Superior, Sleek. I've had both Black and White and like both equally. I just went back to white because I hate using a case that stays on the phone and I didn't like the fingerprints on my black one. This works PERFECT for me. I used the home button cutout of a screen protector over the apple to protect it from scratching 🙂

GET WHATEVER COLOR YOU WANT sheesh.

Get black. Since my gf has white, i think of it as a girl color. Unless your a female, then get the white.
 
Got White there was no question i'd get just stands out more and looks more iconic imo plus doesnt show fingerprints half as bad as the black. Only neg is the cracking issues show up a lot worse if you get em.

I got a black 3G, getting a white 3GS. I just thought I'd switch it up a bit and plus the white is great in not showing smudges etc.

White is in no way a gay color for a cell phone or at all for that matter. I've seen plenty of guys with white iPhones and I've also seen straight couples where the guy has a white iPhone and the girl has a black one.

No problems with the white I say. 🙂
 
I had a white 3G but over time it developed hairline cracks that look like those in plastic when the volatile component of the plastisizer eventually sublimates. Nothing I couldn't live with, but I've heard that these cracks are much less noticeable when the case is black, so I opted for a black 3G S. Too early to make conclusions, but as the guy who fell off the Empire State Building said as he passed the 70th floor, "so far, so good".
 
The other day I bought two white iPhone 3GS (32 GB) phones and I could not be happier with them. I wanted to get a white one for myself and a black one for my wife, but the Apple Store only had the white iPhone 3GS (32 GB) in stock. So I got her a white one instead for her other birthday present. She gave me a hug yesterday and told me she loves the iPhone. She had a Nokia phone with TMobile - let's just say that it is gone now. LOL

The plastic on the white iPhone 3GS is way different than the plastic on the older iPhone 3G. Much better quality IMHO. I got PixelSkin cases (Speck) to protect the iPhones - nice cases.

Overall, I am very happy with our purchase. BTW, the Apple Store rocks. We noticed a 2-inch hairline scratch on the glass front of my wife's iPhone - must have been on the special coating. Anyway, the Apple Store replaced it with a new one after looking at it under a light. They had determined it was a factory flaw. Now that is customer service!

Regarding AT&T... Yes, they are a little more expensive than T-Mobile but I am impressed with the whole purchase, activation, and the setting up of the AT&T account online experience. Easy and straightforward - the way it should be.
