Which color XS Max leather case...

SAME blue on the 8, and cape cod on the max. But I'm not so sure it looks good with gold...

Ya man. Since the 6 plus I've used the iphone leather case. I broke my 8 plus a few months ago using a 0.3 MM thin case. I went and bought the apple leather case before I got the screen repaired of all things.

Most of these darn leather cases are too slippery. For the 8 Plus I got an outlier, it seems--the light blue was very grippy. All the others too slippery.
Pretty stupid: half the idea of a case is to make these soap bars--aka iPhones--less prone to slipping out of your hand. Sometimes you have to wonder how many people in Apple are just sheep. Certainly if I worked there I'd be pointing this obvious stuff out.

Yeah. Midnight blue may as well be black. Boring. If you want to go that direction, get black.

Correct. Trouble with black faces is that the only color that really looks good surrounding them is black. Everything else looks slightly off.

Trouble is you don't really see the gold unless you take the case off. For the purposes of case matching, it's a black phone.

Trouble with all these dark colors is that they're essentially off-black--or will become off-black. Might as well go black. Boring, yes, but at least it matches--and it won't turn ugly when it wears. Sad but true.

I got the cape cod. Pretty color but, like too many Apple leather cases, it's slippery, so that's stupid. I doubt I'll keep it. Trying it out w/ the phone when I get the phone. Then it goes back.
Most sensible cases for this black phone (regardless of color of back) are probably black or saddle brown, both of which are boring by this time.

You know, I'm really torn. I picked up the Forest Green leather case for my iPhone XS Max, and like others had said before, it really is hard to showcase the green. FWIW, the leather - to me at least - feels supple and grippy. But it's the color that nags me. It's darker than what the Apple site shows. It's a dark green and it looks black to me. Now while this may be something others want, I'm a little saddened that nearly hides all the gold. Granted I know all the cases would have done this - save clear ones but I've done the dark tones so much that I had opted for the green color for something more lively and now, I am really considering returning it for the new blue or maybe the saddle brown.
You should get a clear case then. There are clear cases with costing that doesn’t turn brown over time.

I’m keeping my forest geeen for my gold xs max! I went outside and it looks much better in daylight and you can see the green colour a lot better.
The green and gold matches very well. I saw another guy with it sitting outside the apple store and I could immediately tell it was the new forest green case.
I’m Aussie too and green and gold are our national colours hahaha

Looks great! I’m still on the fence about the gold max, just seems more limited with case pairing. Only thing I would worry about with forest is the future patina... I would expect it to get super dark

I recently picked this one up since the Forest Green to me looked too dark, much like the Midnight Blue. I don't know yet how I feel about teh case. What are your thoughts on it?
So I’m in a similar boat as right now I have the saddle brown, cape cod and the forest green and I’m actually deciding whether I’ll go with saddle brown or cape cod. Im actually kinda leaning towards the cape cod. I’m not sure yet since I don’t know how it will age, and I don’t know if I’ll get tiredness of such a bold color (compared to my style anyway) after a while. I haven’t had either color before so they’re both new to me, but saddle brown has been around whereas cape cod is newer. What are you considering?
