As soon as something "techy" gets release, either its released in Japan or in the US, also,
How I wish that were more true. MANY MANY cars and cell phones never get released here, or take forever (Lancer EVO, and Impreza WRX and WRX STi).

If I had to move, I'd either go to New Hampshire (property tax is a bitch there though), southern-ish Quebec (about an hour or so outside of Montréal preferably), or Ireland.

Very thoughtful of you max_altitude! ;) :D

There are a few places I could see myself living - Australia, Hungary... so many beautiful places I've visited all over the world... but for me, I love being here in Canada. What can I say, it's a great country.

Canada would also be a nice place to live. Although, I imagine that it would get a bit chilly there in the winter time. :)

Depends where you live. Here on the Prairies, yeah, but on the West Coast it hardly ever snows, if at all. Then of course around this time of year it's around 90 degrees and will be pushing 100 degrees into August. Great hot summers here.

Hot summers and cold winters- sounds similar to the extremes of weather that we often encounter here in Pennsylvania. :)

Yep - I think it's a little more extreme here than in Penn though... ;)

Thanks for this good tip. Note to myself: consider Vancouver in addition to Australia and Japan. I don't like frigid cold winder in New York, which I have gone through more than 10 years.

I thought taxes are sins in New Hampshire. I am guessing the state govt has to get some money from some place else such as property taxes.

Note to myself: avoid New Hampshire due to high property tax (which may haunt me tlll my death if I buy a property there).

You would love Vancouver, especially Vancouver Island. There are rainforests there which rival and even best some that I've seen in New Zealand, Australia, etc. Great surfing, whale watching, beaches, ocean kayaking, hiking, whitewater rafting - some of the best rapids in the world in fact! Great place to be, I'm heading out there for 3 weeks myself mid-July.

UK UK UK UK UK UK UK

I'm not sure why, I'm just drawn there. I have been for years...mystery. I'm going to do a Junior year of college abroad there, so that'll satisfy me for a bit. :D

Otherwise I'd like to move to Australia, France or Switzerland. Though, if I were to move to Switzerland, I'd have to do mandatory military service...

Come to Vancouver people!!!
Sure the cost of living here is ridiculous but well worth it...
Sun, beach, ski slopes, rainforest, hiking trails, bike trails, whitewater kayaing/rafitng, sea kayaking, sailing, scuba diving, hand gliding, rock climbing, bird watching, plane watching etc are all within 30 min of the city and most places are accessible by public transit which is very good here.
residential property taxes arent too bad but business one are 7x that.
Lots of Bike friendly streets , most companies have storage lockers for bikes or give employess transit passes; no need to have a car.
The views are great , sunsets are breathtaking even if you live here people still pause ad look up.
Winters are mild in the city, summers not too hot.
Oh and the variety of good restaurants is really unparalled
good events by here too, I just saw Varekai last Sat.

I would have to say London, England or Paris, France. I hope to live in one of them when I graduate from college and eventually start a buisness.

I found London to be very crowded, unfriendly, high on pollution, dreary (weather-wise) and extremely expensive. Sorry to all you Londoners, just sharing my opinion...

Funny, I've been to all of these places except Japan, and have lived at 3 of these places for at least 1 year, and I'd pick Canada. :p

I know I know......I'm a bit biased, seeing as how I'm Canadian, but still.......Canada is cool, and Canadians are cool. English people are cool, but I don't think I'd live there. English weather and everything ruins it. Australia is great too, but some of the people ruin it. :p

I'll probably go to Japan in December. I'll see if it's worth moving to. ;)

Yeah, I've heard a lot of good stuff about Canada. Every Canandian I've met in person or on the net was really nice and I've always heard good things about Toronto and Vancouver. So, Canada would be a definite possibility. It would probably be the easist for me to move to too, since I'm in the USA.

And I like dreary, dark, weather so I think I would like the UK's weather. :)

I can stay in the USA and since there are so many interesting places here it can keep me occupied for many lifetimes, but Hawaii would be ultimate...though a state, it's far from anything on either side and it truly has its own identity separate from the mainland. I have heard of state pride, but Hawaii has made an artform out of it.

Canada, Vancouver or the vicinity.

London, or just outside of it.

Italy, where I have never been but everybody in my family raves about it who have been there. Greece, also.

Jerusalem, if it becomes more safe because of the history.

Maybe an up and coming modern area in India or China. Hong Kong probably still remains the jewel of the Orient.

New Zealand, just to be close to Mrs. Wing, and probably a major city in Australia.

When it comes down to it, I can think of a lot of places I can envision myself living for the rest of my life which I am probably slightly more than halfway through.

I've always thought New Zealand would be interesting, for sailing purposes.:)

Australia and Italy also seem like cool places to live.

Or perhaps Nepal simply because of the Himalayas.:p

New Mexico? :p

Seriously, though; even though I have no plans or desire to leave the US, if I had to go anywhere it would probably be Italy. I have family there.

I would move to Germany and work at the Knipex factory. In my dreams.... :)

Probably Canada, Australia, or Austria.

The first two, I wouldn't have to learn a new language, but I FELL IN LOVE with Austria over spring break. :p

I would have to go with England, I would be close enough to visit more than just England, and I think living in England would be very cool. Certainly in London I would assume I could easily find a tech job, and somewhere along the time I could find a nice young English girl. Of course, I love America and I guess after a few years I would make my way back to America (hopefully the nice young English girl would come with me) and build a mega amateur radio contest station out in Marfa, TX.
