5" screen
gps/compass
better camera
3g/4g cellular access

These options are quite bland and features like 3g of course will not happen.

What about the Camera?

The two things you mentioned and the camera HAS to be in the next generation.
A 0.7 megapixel camera is unacceptable when a standard smartphone has at least 3 megapixels nowadays.

Is it that important to have phone connection- to download maps- for the GPS apps?

Is it not technically possible?

Sadly GPS and 3G are features that the itouch will never receive so i decided against putting it on the list.

How about two freakin seek buttons, I've been waiting for that since the 1st generation and apparently apple can't figure out that this would convert a bunch of the click wheel lovers to the touch because they could operate it without looking. There is plenty of room by the home button.

but no, they stick two volume buttons on the side. whoopity do!

128GB would be nice, then you could carry a decent library of movies with you.

Though seeing as they haven't upped the nano capacity in 3 years, the classic in 4, and downgraded the shuffle to 2GB..I really doubt we will even see the iPod touch at 128GB if apple is to push a stupid cloud service obviously capacity updates are going to be a thing of the past.

Physical buttons like iphone 4 would be nice, it is absurd there are rumors saying a touch-activated home button.
That would be a huge turn off for the itouch.

I just hope my iPhone has all of those things and more.

The more the better, since it will be the number 5, lets hope Apple does have some moderately big upgrades

I hope you're right about the camera, it would be a great upgrade to the Ipod touch.

I can't see what else they can really improve on, it teams they intentionally put in a 0.7 MP camera so that they could improve it for the 5th gen.

The better question is whether the 5 gen itouch would have iphone 4's camera or would have a 3MP camera.

LED flash and auto focus would also be welcoming, I'm hoping Apple adds that too/

If Apple goes to a 4 inch screen for the iphone then it would tend to follow that an ipod Touch would have a similar screen.
I'd buy that with an A5 but would prefer a 5 inch screen.

a 128 GB one will render the classic useless and Jobs has said the classic would not been eliminated- further proof a 128 gb one wouldnt come out.

I have less than 3GB of music, 128 GB is basically a computer hard drive in a mobile device, i doubt that most people will even need 64 gb let alone 128 gb

The chrome color has no reason to change unless the back does change but Apple will still separate the iphone and itouch so i'm thinking same chrome color with same chrome back for the 5g.

Yep could be, I just read that on the front page, the bigger question would be if Apple were willing to take on the cost of the new cameras. I'm sure they won't raise the price of the itouch but unless Apple suddenly turns giddy ,something won't be added(that was supposed to be added) price increase at the expense of the newer better camera.

I would be satisfied if battery life and RAM are increased.

I can live with the cameras. More megapixels does not automagically mean better pictures. In this application, it's arugable. But a point-and-shoot? Questionable.
