I can live with the cameras. More megapixels does not automagically mean better pictures. In this application, it's arugable. But a point-and-shoot? Questionable.

True but a 0.7 mega pixel camera is horrid which would cancel out a great sensor. With devices having 3 or 5 MP, the itouch might as well receive that upgrade along with a better sensor.

Battery is better almost every year and increase in RAM is highly likely especially if an A5 processor is included in the 5g.

OK. Good to know! Hopefully Apple upgrades all three of these things. I mean, that is my hope. I am sure others share it, though.

It definitely seems like Apple purposely placed a subpar camera in the 4G so that it can improved with the 5G. Since A5 processor was included in ipad2, it would make sense for Apple to release that on all its other iOS devices ( iphone and itouch)
 
A5 Processor and increase in RAM are what people will think will be in itouch 5g and i do think this will happen. However an upgrade to the camera will surely happen ( unsure of the low %, even if there are two categories)

These 3 concepts are highly likely to be in itouch 5g, the others, we'll just have to wait and look out for future rumors.

A5 processor still remains most likely to appear in itouch 5g as voted on my the community.
 
I'm hoping for the itouch 5g to have iphone 4- 5MP camera, after all the iphone 5 will be having an 8MP camera.
 
Just like they did with the iPad 2, id like to see a white version of the iPod Touch. Here's a photo that I photoshoped to see what a white iPod Touch would look like :)

Its possible but i think apple would still keep the color option on th iphone.

If iphone 5 gets the 8MP camera and the itouch gets iphone 4's camera, that would be a nice upgrade.
 
These are my main interests:
  • Increased RAM
  • Larger Screen
  • A5
  • *Increased Battery Life

Without any of those, my 3rd gen Touch is doing just fine. And truthfully unless there's something amazing on the next model, I probably won't upgrade until mine needs service.

I actually don''t care about the camera. I have a real camera if I want to take pictures. And my cell phone has a never used camera if I must have a snapshot of something.

In truth, I use mine mostly for music and as a book reader with some app use. However, some of the apps I use are bogged down by the ram and maybe the processor in mine.
 
128GB + seek buttons (forward/back) would probably get me off my classic once and for all. There is plenty of room for the seek buttons next to the home button.

A5 and higher RAM seems to be a no brainer for Apple, larger screen would always follow iphone5 and i doubt iphone5 is getting greater screen size. Battery life doesn't seem to be an issue, as long as it goes the whole day over 20% battery, its fine since I'm one of those people that charges electronics overnight everynight.

Unless Apple is phasing out the classic which i doubt, 128 GB won't come out, it would interfere with the classic's market.
 
I'd personally like to see:
More RAM
16GB starting model (8GB is definitely not enough anymore with iOS)
A better camera (preferably 5MP, but 3 would do, I guess)
FM tuner
and of course: A5 chip.

More RAM
Better camera

I'll probably buy one anyway, I cracked my 4G one:(

More RAM definetly should be on especially with better apps running with retina display.

16GB is one that I hope for too. It is the perfect capacity since 8GB is too little but buying 32 GB without using its space is a waste, that 70$ can get a person good case, good screen protector, and $50 itunes giftcard to complete the touch with fun apps.

Since next iphone will get 8MP camera, I am sure that the touch will get 5MP camera , the one that the iphone had ( I can picture the conference in which Jobs devotes the whole time to show the itouch about its 5MP camera with great zoom and all that) It wouldnt make sense for Apple to source a new camera of 3MP, sure it may be cheaper but the 5G wouldnt be much of an upgrade over the 4G.

Thoughts on itouch5g getting iphones 5MP camera?

Agreed on camera upgrade. Camera's are upgraded with each hardware update. My guess is they'll put the current iPhone 4 camera in the next iPod Touch.

It would be a major upgrade having iphone 4s camera, since Apple needs to upgrade something big, i think it would have to be this. However Apple did add retina display and another processor to itouch 4g, lets just hope itouch 5g wont be like the 3g where only speed increased and nothing else.

That would leave the iphone pointless, people would go for the itouch, interfering with people that once bought iphones.

I doubt from a business standpoint, this is a very poor decision.
