Will 2016 finally be the year of an iPhone without a ___GATE?
These features pique my concern:
1. "Fusion" cores+"2 Battery Saving Cores"
2. (Jet Black) Scratchgate/Scuffgate 2.0
3. Inconsistencies with the Aux to lightning adapter(probably not gate material)
4. Home Button(Clickgate?)

I'm not trying to offend anyone with this. It just happens every year and I'm speculating.
So what do you think will be this year's *gate? Anything raising an eyelid? :D

Speakergate as the top speaker will blast people's ears while talking on the phone.
Well at least speaker gate can be fixed by software!

Excellent Thread Topic Heres My Speculation on "iPhone 7 Gates"

#1. Jet Black Glossy Scratches Out of the Box Not enough supply for Replacements Until January 2017
yes it scratches but the Outagre will be from new Pre-scratched Units.
#2. Broken Home Button People will keep pressing it in too hard and break something. because it does not move
#3. Dual Camera Malfunctions never been done before Bound to be Problems in such a complex system
#4. Battery Gate People will NOT like the Sluggish performance of Email and Texting in the Slower Fusion Cores and will want an Option to keep the Phone Running Full Speed Killing Battery Life.
#5. iOS 10 Gate No More Slide To Unlock You can only Use Finger Print ID or Enter you PIN Code People like me hate Both Option. Slide to Unlock will be brought back Via Update.
#6. Supply Gate the iPhone 7 Plus will Outsell the small 7 and we all know there is NOT enough Supply
128GB 7 Plus Units are hitting $1,500 on the Grey Market.
Agree with most of it.. I don't think performance will be an issue though! Not by a long shot.. But #1,2,3 almost seem inevitable.

Let's give this a 'post event discussion' moniker and call it a day, shall we?

Jet Black scratchgate is probably the likely hysteria this round.

To which I say, get over it. A daily use device is never going to stay pristine without being protected.

No question about it. The only thing that might minimize scratchgate is that supply seems to be insanely limited right now.

Headphonegate. No doubt. But in this case it is purposeful. I get it. I don't like it today. But I don't want to get stuck in the moment either. Let's move forward. Wireless headphones is the future. But complaints today will be significant.

It would be jackgate.

Why would they? Everybody who buys a 7 knows what he is getting into. No (unwanted) surprises at all.

You've met other people, right? LoL. People buy all the time and then complain. It's human nature. Emotion always trumps logic in the moment.

Gonna have to agree with people saying "scratch-gate" and "home-gate"

Basically the home button is going to drive people crazy, especially with how much it is used. Early hands-on say it's terrible.

The Jet black is going to scratch like crazy, and you know it is going to be bad when Apple mentions it on their own website as a warning.

Curiously, Johnny I've Ben Jamin it but it's not a Buttongate

I can see:

s/w issues w/ the home button.

lighting cables bending/breaking at the port on the new earpods and h/p adapter.

an iPod nano scratch issue on Jet Black.

TC/Schiller/Ive being flambed if sales are more lackluster than the iP6s same period last year.

I'm waiting for the posts on Gizmodo, et al, of jerks heading into Apple Stores and deliberately trying to scratch the demo models.

Ridiculous-post-on-Macrumors-gate.

Seriously, this comes up every year, even though the antenna issue was the only somewhat bad one, and bend-gate was experienced by relatively very few people.

And with Samsung's flagship device now literally burning down houses and cars, kinda makes Apple's missteps seem trivial, doesn't it?

S7 edge damaged speaker

S7 not quite waterproof

iPhone 7's Water-gate

iPhone users make a hissyfit that their new iPhone 7 has a terrible speaker once it is submerged underwater. No time to wait for it to dry up. Water-resistant (it isn't waterproof) is a new concept to iPhone users. Barely catching up to Xperia Z users from 3.5 years ago.

Besides, don't some iPhone users find a way to instigate finding a new problem out of OCD boredom? I'm not joking like I was with Applegate earlier. Water-resistance and waterproof is two different meanings. The internal components may get affected over time.

Give it another month or so, and you will see iPhone 7 water-gate threads just like what you saw with the S7 edge users. This isn't some silly, "Milhous" pun. Water-resistance is an extra line of defense for accidents. Not something you plan on taking a bath with every day.

BS. I have an S7 Edge and have gone swimming with it many times, washed it under the faucet, etc. Sure the speaker on the S7 is muffled for a few hours after being submerged, but that's it.

Nah... I created the poll in a different thread not realising that yours was running. The Mods merged the threads...

I hate to be the one but I can't resist after the "note 7 explodegate" (did i just make that up?).

After antennagate , bendgate and screengate (6s). Any predictions as to what the "gate" will be this year? Hard to see a new iphone with no issues anymore.

Ps. Please don't hate :)
