Service. That extra $130 your paid for a T-Mobile LTE iPad is useless if you can't get signal and getting a Verizon SIM card from a Verizon corporate store is like pulling teeth.

With the refarming of their bands and all the money they are pumping into their service... I'd put money down that T-Mobile service is going to get better and better. I'm not a big fan of Verizon and the biggest reason is the way they deal with SIM cards... left a bad taste in my mouth regarding their customer service.

I agree, with their recent "UnCarrier" moves, I can definitely see T-Mobile coverage improving hand in hand with more customers. Alas, for those who need coverage and data now, AT&T or Verizon may be the only choice depending on location.
I don't get it. Can't Verizon corp store or even Apple retail store give you LTE sim card?
Or do they try to put iPad on post paid place at Verizon corp store?

Apple can't give you a SIM card. Verizon corp will tell you you need to get postpaid and there's no such thing as a prepaid iPad plan (at least that's what happened last time I went there around a year ago).
for those getting the 16GB versions, what are you using the iPad for? still debating over the 16 or 32 versions

Email > Web browsing > Some photos > Some YouTube > Some banking/Amazon purchases > Few games, nothing taxing > GPS functions > Some movies but they will be in iTunes, not saved unless watching them, than back to iTunes. No music at all. Have a stereo for that.
If I see that my storage is getting tight, I will transfer some stuff to my computer. Don't really see that happening.

Email, web surfing, mobile hotspot. I already have a 128GB iPad 4 which serves my needs well and plan on keeping for a while (or at least until a 256GB iPad gets released). I'm getting one of the new iPads primarily for international LTE support for use while on vacation. Afterwards, it'll be a good way to continuously monitor T-Mobile's service and coverage when I'm back in the US. 🙂
I'm done dealing with 16gb devices. I got the 32gb 5S, and so I'll be getting the 32gb Space Gray Wifi iPad Air =D

sold my old ipad mini, looking at a t-mobile 32g ipad mini retina. probably black, we'll see how it goes, im not trying to go nuts looking for it but that free 200megs or unlimited $10 slow data sounds perfect for me

128 Gb wifi air. Can't decide on the white or black. I've had all previous models in black. Thinking about changing to a white one assuming I'm brave enough😀

I don't really understand the whole "OMG 16 GB is unusable" thing. I am not planning on storing videos on my device. Certainly not any music. Maybe some photos, but I will probably just use a flickr viewing app and store them in the cloud instead. I do that anyway right now as a backup measure. That leaves me with apps and games. I made a list of apps (mostly games actually) and calculated how much space they would need according to the installation size specified in the itunes store. Right now there are 50 apps on my list, for a total of just under 5 GBs. And thats with one game (Asphalt 8) taking up 0.9 GBs. Not counting Asphalt 8, the average app size is well below 100 MBs.
So, if there really is 13.x GBs of available space, that should be plenty of rooms apps, some pdf documents and notes, as well as possibly some photos. Am I missing something? This is my first ipad after all...

We got Verizon with an iPad 3, following the rumors that vzw was going to allow cell customers to attach their pads. When it finally came through, it was $10/mo just to share the same minutes. Which by itself wasn't a biggie, except that we can go months without taking it off the same wifi network.
T-Mobile would be appealing just to have it connected, with the option to pay to play. The extra spiff is that much more compelling. Btw, even without an account, the 3 allows full GPS for map/nav - much better when traveling than a phone.
