Have an iPad 4 I just sold, got a mini I am selling. Never used the iPad 4 much, used the mini daily. Plan to get retina mini 32gb white/silver Verizon LTE.

I don't need TouchID on my iPad, I use a Smart Cover so a password lock would be a hindrance.

Planning on iPad Mini in Space Gray, the 64GB model with LTE. Should suffice for a good 3 years before their next major changes to the product.

Had a 32GB 4G mini for a year, will be upgrading to retina 32GB 4G mini this year.

I thought about going for a 64GB but the increases in price mean I won't be doing that.

Am very tempted by an ipad Air though, they look like how the ipad should have always been! Will get more use out of the mini though, so makes sense to wait.

That's if they do preorders. The iPhone 5s didn't get preorders, so I have a bad feeling that the iPad mini won't either.

Why not just do it on launch day? You'll get it within a week of launch day which is good enough I would think.

...

and I may just order a WiFi iPad Air this Friday.

If I do; not sure if it will be 32gb or 64gb - want to see if I can move away from computer usage since real life got in the way of school again.

Outside of work, I would like try to go iPad only.

Or if you live North enough, you can try and get one on launch morning. I like to think that Apple fanatics are sensible enough to not risk frostbite waiting in line all night, but I'm probably wrong.

A lot of people are just assuming that the ipad mini and ipad air have exactly the same specs because Apple didn't spell it out in the presentation slides. Similarly some folks are complaining it has the same cpu as the iPhone 5s. Theres already another thread showing the part numbers taken from a photo match up to the A5x/A6X line of chips. Please give it a few days as we may indeed learn some info that might change your mind which model you get. :) It is possible the iPad Air is clocked higher, has a faster version GPU, or has more RAM. Or none of those. Time (and iFixit) will tell.

Personally I am learning towards iPad Air 32GB Wifi in White/Silver. I had an iPad 3 64 GB in the past that I really only loaded a bunch of movies on it just to use the space but rarely, if ever, watched them.

Maybe in a year or two 32 GB will become the baseline.

I'm really disappointed the iPad mini got the same specs as the new iPad air.

I was dead set on the full iPad but now with no TouchID, no upgraded camera, and now the Mini has the same specs?

:(

I honestly don't know why...The iPad Air is just like all the previous full size iPads...Flagship tech and a 9.7" screen starting at $499. The only thing that has changed is the mini, which now has the same tech, but a smaller form factor for $100 less. Are you upset because you now have to make a choice (doesn't sound like it; you said you were already set on the full-size), or are you upset that you can't feel elitist anymore for having better specs than the guy next to you with the mini at starbucks?

uh, sounds to me like he's upset that he's paying more when there appears to be a cheaper iPad with very similar specs? Nothing to do with elitism...jesus.

I think I changed my mind...

I think I'm getting a Black iPad Air 64GB, Verizon (I was going to get the same config in Wifi)

Personally I don't have access to a store really. Closest is an hour away and I would have to walk a few miles there and back along with a bus ride.

I can wait a week and go to bed at 3am after ordering it :p

Also-realized I haven't shared-

Planning on getting a 64 GB SG iPad Wifi

Not sure I'm getting a new one. I have Verizon Mini but I only use it for light ready and browsing and tethering my computer to it. It's a black 16GB. I'd like a Grey Retina Mini (32GB) but can't really see spending $630 plus tax for that! I'll probably stay with the existing Mini even though I'd love the retina display.

Cheers,

64GB air wifi

getting 64GB air wifi to replace ipad 3 (verizon). ipad 3 barely runs ios 7...and i've used cellular twice on the ipad 3 so will opt for the wifi version.

in addition, i think i'm going to pick up a nexus 7 on tmobile, which will come with the free 200mb data. it'll be a nice google maps/email/books device that i can keep for as long as tmobile offers the free data. doubt nexus 7 will have much resale value anyway...

I would beg to differ. I also use a Smart Cover on my iPad 3 but I still use a pass code to keep it secure. I would rather have a touch ID function then have to use the pass code. Its one of the best features on the iPhone 5S and makes unlocking so much more convenient and that bit faster.

128gb Air

Which is pretty dern expensive for what it is. But the thing is, all I use is an iPad,

So I guess it's justified right?

Tell me I'm right... Please.....$800

No but seriously, I'll just sell my 4 so it's like only half that, which still makes me cringe

Hey, if you can afford it, why not? I reckon there are probably plenty of folk here getting the 128 LTE Air + AppleCare so over $1K+taxes. :p

Plus the smart cover, a back cover, a bluetooth keyboard (the new Logitech ones look awesome), a leather pouch, and at least $200 in new apps.....

Both

I have been waiting and I have sold all my stuff. I have been waiting to get 64gig wifi in space gray, air and mini. I liked the iPad 4 for surfing and playing games while sitting in my recliner, but I like the mini when I jump in bed or go outside of the house. The mini was harder for me to read so the mini w/ret should make it much better. I am looking to get the new Clamshell case and the apple case in black leather for the air, and I have a Zagg Foilo and Poetic Slimline case for the mini.

So out of curiosity, for those getting the 128GB, what are you planning on putting on it? I mean, I have a 32GB iPad now and plan to go with 64GB but I am still in the 20GB for storage on my iPad. I don't think I'll be getting a 128GB but just in case..

In my case, mostly videos. Full seasons of stuff I may want to watch, some movies. No music, I use Match for that. I do have about 20GB of games. Some of the nicer games are 1GB each. I have a 64GB mini and for the most part I've managed other than having to strategically manage my episode selection. Now I can have whole seasons of NCIS and 24 at my fingertips. Yum. :D

Hmm ok I don't think I'd watch many movies/tv shows. I love 24 though :)
